my plan, all things equal:

Wilson Chandler for the MLE and Nash for whatever they can give him.

Wilson seems reasonable for the MLE, will it be about $6M? Come off the bench and back up Amare and Melo. He brings a 2-way player who can go inside and out.

Nash for obvious reasons, although I am doubtful if he would take scraps for salary.

Can we please just so NO to Steve Nash!!!!

Do we really need a defensive sieve who is or will be 39 next year?

For Christ sakes he's one of the few NBA players older than me!! No, no and NO!!!

Chandler yes. Nash no. And especially if D'antoni isn't here and I hope he isnt, but we'l see what he can do with this talent.

Polish their new championship rings
If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

Paul or Deron or Howard for 40% of everyone's salary combined with the restructure rule.

i'd say nash or felton for the MLE, bolster the front court with the mini room exception.

dude is still KILLING it as a starter in the league, and you would turn him down for like the vet min for off-the-bench play? Why?

Not EVERYONE on the team needs to be a defensive stalwart. And if he paired with Chandler, Iman off the bench, not bad.

Vet min, limited minutes, yes. But i would prefer Felton or someone like him that can be here for 3-5 years with the team and we make several runs at a ring. We have to play Deron 6 times, Rose 6 times, John Wall 6 times, and others.

I want an answer, and at 39 Nash is a very temporary answer.

It will be a very different world.

After all, the Knicks will have won their first championship in decades, and everyone is going to be talking about how in spite of having superstars in Carmelo and Stoudemire, Tony Douglas took and made the 3 that sealed the game... and how the sky's the limit for him. (then the Knicks will be left with some tough decisions)

Agreed. Felton would be a better choice because he can be a legit long-term solution. I think he's the guy who makes the most sense next summer with the MLE.

Is Felton a realistic option next summer? He seemed pretty P.O'ed after the trade last season, and if we're only offering the MLE, he may have better offers from teams that miss out on Deron/CP3(if the Clippers deal doesn't go through).

Nash is probably my top target next summer for a 2 year deal. I'm not sure how much of the MLE it will take, but I'm guessing more than the vet. minimum. If it's possible to swing for both Chandler and Nash, I'll have a smile from ear to ear.

Give me Steve Nash and draft an Aaron Afflalo type of two way SG

Steve Nash, Jameer Nelson, Raymond Felton, and Goran Dragic are the likely MLE options. I think all of them could get more than the MLE. Nash would be the most likely to take it and try for a chip.

I'll take his 50/40/90 shooting percentages any day of the week

Yeah, I was wondering whether Felton would actually accept the MLE. Well, he'd be my target, but if he won't come back for the MLE, then maybe Nash (on the cheap) is the way to go. We would still have the MLE. Would Chandler take that? If so, then adding Nash and Chandler does sound pretty sweet.

It all depends on how Iman and Fields turn out. If they fail to impress west be looking before the trade deadline.

If the knicks are comfortable with Douglas at PG, then Wilson Chandler should be the target. If the PG situation is still up in the air, the main targets should be Nash, Felton, and Nelson.

Sign Raymond Felton.

Enough with Steve Nash, who will be 59 years old next season. Ramon Sessions? Getottahere.

Felton is young, durable and brings the feisty attitude we love. He can wear uniform number 3.

End of Story.

I think you use the MLE and try and create value by getting a player below their market price. Like the Lakers, you can get performance out of these players and eventually package them for younger stars. Meanwhile, you have to keep the circus out of MSG so that players feel good about being in NY. Getting a Jamal Crawford or Baron Davis at $2,5M would be perfect for this. Next year, consider the MLE on a player like that, rather than a utility player. Its an ideal scenario, but, hey.

I think it's amusing that people are quick to discount Steve Nash. I don't care how old the guy is. He's in tremendous shape and is still the best passing/shooting point guard in the entire league.

Steve Nash
14.7pts 11.4ass (49%fg 39%3fg 91%ft)

So why is everyone bitching about a guy that will take a two year contract and be exactly what we need.

Steve Nash leading the ****ing league in assists; 11.4 Frye, Childress, Warrick, Dudely.

If you can get Felton for 5-7MM fine.
