Per Howard Beck @HowardBeckNYT
Knicks acquire Chandler, plus rights to Ahmad Nivins and Giorgos Printezis. Mavs get Andy Rautins and protected 2012 2nd-rd pick from Wiz

Ahmad Nivins 6'9 PF. played 4 years at St. Joe's

NBA Draft.net profile:

(from 2006)

Strengths: Agile forward with excellent speed running the floor ... A defensive minded player who takes great pride in his ability to defend Fundamentally sound rebounding technique with a knack for timing the ball off the glass A presence as a shot blocker, his athleticism and good lateral quickness allow him to defend out to the perimeter and be a good on-ball defender . Strong leaper, he can really rise Takes the charge well.Cleans up the offensive glass, as evidenced by the fact that close to 60% of his rebounds this year are on the offensive end Nice back-to-the basket moves down low. At just 19 he has a lot of physical depelopment left. Shows a lot of untapped potential ...

Weaknesses: Offensively, he is still very raw Not yet comfortable with the ball in his hands outside of the low post Lacks a midrange game at this point He has bad positioning in the offensive paint when looking for the ball, this really hurts his chances of getting good quality entry passes to work on his low post moves Really needs to add some bulk in order to bang with the big boys and make his low post game more effective, and he is working on it

Giorgos Printezis is 6'9 also. on the Greek national team

NBAdraft.net profile:

Strengths: Small forward who plays with great energy and hustle ... Really has a great attitude and knows no other way than giving full effort ... Solid athlete, with good size to play the 3 ... Very strong one on one player considering he's European ... Has solid aggressiveness, attacking the basket ... A great kid who competes hard who has a chance to develop into an NBA player in a few seasons ... His ball handling is good for a 3 but can imporve ... His style of play is somewhat like Antawn Jamison, as he scores alot around the basket ... Willing to do the dirty work, crashes the boards hard ... Will get on the floor for loose balls and take charges ...

Weaknesses: He is a solid athlete with a nice array of skills but doesn't stand out in any one area, besides his hustle ... Needs to become more polished offensively ... Not a great passer, but shows a willingness to look for the open teammate ... Lacks great foot speed laterally, but not terrible ... Can improve upon his range, shot off the dribble ...

Notes: Emerged as one of the top 1985 born International prospects at the 2007 RBK Eurocamp.

both of these guys are currently playing in Europe. one of them could emerge as the backup SF next year (once balkman's contract is up).

If one of them actually gets to play and contribute to the Knicks, I will be ecstatic. Talk about long shots...

Ahmad Nivins looks like a good rotation player. He is a good shot blocker and rebounder. Good hops. Can hit the open 12 footer.

Giorgos Printezis looks like a opportunistic, slasher type SF that can post a little.

We are slowly replenishing the cupboard.

Printezis looks like he coud be a good pick and roll player in this league from that video. He also finishes well inside and moves well without the ball. I'm not sure who can defend in the NBA tho.

Maybe, but I'm kind of with Anubis on this one. Andy Rautins probably saw more meaningful minutes in a Knicks jersey than these two will.
But we still got the big fish in the deal, and that's what counts. If anything comes from the Euros, all the better...I'm just not going to get my hopes up for them.

Dudes kill me with this every time we acquire a young guy.

We got two scrubs who likely will NEVER play a game in the NBA. It's reality. This team is in win NOW mode. We can get aging vets looking for a ring that are better than either of those guys.

This is almost as bad as when dudes were hyping Earl Barron.

We have Derrick Brown here by the way.

I would have preferred 2-3 year deal Barea or even 1 year 1.5m Peja.

I thought Bobcats got Derrick Brown?

I was hoping he'd be our backup PF/SF.
