Bibby plays absolutely no D now. He looked horrible last season and that was while playing next to Lebron and Wade. I can't see him stepping it up now.

I agree...but I think they're looking for someone dirt cheap who can shoot the 3. And Woodson coached him during some of his good year. Maybe not a bad move if he's dirt cheap. Can always waive him if Barron comes along. Or if Turiaf is still on the roster use him to get a guy like Sessions.

He was OK in the regular season (including 44% from 3 point range). This would obviously be a huge downgrade at the PG position from last year with Billups though.

Bibby sucked for the Heat last year. Didn't they waive him at one point? And they needed a PG too.

Not the PG I wanted. Does he have anything left in the tank? If last season is a clue, we shouldn't sign him.

He can shoot, but can't defend a chair. They need a true PG on the roster though. Probably going to end up being a very short term thing.

I hope so. Sessions would be a solid get for us, if all else fails. Baron Davis would be even better.

he was picked up specifically for the playoffs. Didn't play a minute of the very last game after averaging like 15 minutes as a backup to Chalmers.

Ugh. Bad signing if it's true. At least he'll get to flex that 3 point percentage in this system. Must be nobody else would sign a one year deal.

Bibby shoots better but Carter plays tough D. I'd take Carter but as a back-up. We still need a starting PG.

It's not really about Bibby! It seems that the approach the Knicks are gonna take is that they will look to improve the PG spot, but if they can't then they'll just go ahead and plug guys in like TD, Iman or Bibby in order to bring the ball up, but no matter what, they're gonna run things thru Melo more. It's not a bad idea. Melo will have to step up as a leader who makes his teammates better. He showed a glimpse of this in the playoffs.

With more focus and practice on using Melo to run sets thru, it's bound to help him. A PnR with STAT and Melo would really be something to see. MDA knows that he can't run his system as he once did. Not with Melo here and no CP3. The only logical thing to do is change the focus of the offense a bit as they started to do last year and make it more of a halfcourt style of ball. It's nothing we haven't seen cuz that's what they did last year after the trade and the Knicks still scored a TON.
