I never liked his game, but he's being amnestied by SA. Could he be a 2 on the cheap that can help us?

No thanks! I don't like his game at all, I still hold a grudge against him from his Net days and I don't think he has a tough enough mentality to make it with the Knicks. Besides which, why are we still looking at 3s? We need PF's and C's! Look at our roster:

C- Turiaf, Jorts (no idea if ready), Jerome Jordan (no idea if ready)
PF- Amar'e, Derrick Brown (may not be re-signed)
SF- Melo, Shawn Williams (may not be re-signed), Bill Walker, JJ, Balkman
SG- Fields, TD, Andy Rautins
PG- Billups, Iman

Actually we need everything- I get depressed when I look at our roster- we really need to get lucky with free agency.

Get him. San Antonio will be paying the bulk of his salary and we get a solid backup for cheap.

Seriously, I also have issues with...nah, be honest, I hate him. Kidd made the guy look like an Allstar, got him his contracts and when Kidd left he was exposed for the poser he is.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Amnestied guys I would go after...
Plus I think EVERYONE IN AND OUT OF LEAGUE KNOWS D'antoni will bench you until the bench has no more splinters to offer

just so that everyone knows about amnestied picks-ups: if player has 3 years left on contract after getting the amnesty designation and a team bids on player, say $2M, you HAVE to keep that guy on your books for 3 years, it's not just a 1 year deal.

So, a guy like RJ is absolutely out of the question for the Knicks.

All of those guys will be picked up before we have a chance to get them. They aren't free agents when they are amnestied. The non tax paying teams that are under the cap have the first dibs.

With that said, if we had a chance at any of them, I'd want Haywood and maybe Roy and Bierdrins. I wouldn't go nuts for any of them though.

His ball handling sucks for a guard. I remember when New jersey tried him at two and he was a turnover machine. I think he could be useful in 's system. But where would he play? Mello will get most of the minutes at three and Landry is gonna slop up the rest.

I like size seeing as we have none. A side of defense with some makes layups on top.

I think we should sign Hill, Half Amazing and whatever middle tier and serviceable combo of bigs we can find.
But we need to make sure C3 isn't coming before we do any of that.
