I'm not sure if his back is gonna make it through next year. Loss of explosiveness, inability to create, loss of defensive presence these are all my concern when a back goes bad. If he isn't better yet then something tells me that this going to be an issue all the way through now.

He has been resting it for almost three months so it is quite concerning that he is still not able to do anything. I wonder if surgery is an option and if so what that would do for his career.

LJ was one of the most underrated passers in the game and still had a back to the basket post game. Plus, LJ was a very smart player. There is no comparison. Plus, LJ turned out to be a good defender. This is extremely bad news and I am hoping he doesn't lose his game because of this.

Maybe he needs the Gallo surgery.

The signing looked like a bad long-term investment from a mile away.

If anything that should loosen his back up.

Hey, Hey, HEY! Let's not jump the gun. Haven't seen any reports or speculation regarding surgery or lingering numbness. We can't judge him on any games played, and he did give hints of an overseas excursion. Let's see if the proposed August workouts give us any additional clues.

I recall nash laying on his back instead of sitting on the bench for MDA's last 2 seasons with the suns..How does he look 3 yrs later

How much treatment can amare get when there's a lockout.

The concerns for STAT were related only to his Knees and to a lesser extent his repaired retina. I don't recall any concern over his Back at anytime. This is a contact sport and any player at anytime can get injured. He had been putting up great seasons since his surgery and his last year in PHX he carried the team to a great playoff run.

STAT was BALLIN on the C's up until he tweaked his back and again that was a freak accident that can happen to anyone. To be honest he has already made the transition in his game to more of a midpost/perimeter player. I haven't read anything suggesting that he will have chronic ongoing back issues but let's hope not. Has there been some new report that he's still in significant pain or has been limited due to the back?

I think the only report has been the Berman article.

No Amar'e mean no Melo... and while you can hate the Melo trade as much as you want, no way we get on all the national games without either

Still a lot of work to be done. But regardless, I still sign Amar'e knowing the risk. What was the better alternative? Watch our core blossom into the Indiana Pacers (or equivalent)?

I read that his back issue is a "muscle" problem and not really a spine/back problem like Gallo. The muscle just happens to be located in his back. With enough rest he should be fine, but it is a little strange that it's taking this long. Maybe he should allow her to be on top for a few weeks.

I can't remember what they said was the final analysis of his back problem. Is it a muscle tear, strain, disc problem... It just seems a lot like a disc issue when you talk about back spasms and slow healing. But then he said he's able to bend over and everything, just that there's still some muscle pain. I would really love to know exactly what it is.

It's NOT a disk issue.

I don't know we can rule this out. It may be muscular, but there may be some damage to the disc that no one yet knows about, but which is there.

Also - not sure if anyone mentioned this - but might he be playing up the back pain so he can kinda cover up the fact he doesn't want to go overseas to play?

Yea I thought about that too. I don't know that he'd need to do that tho. From the way he's talking I don't get the idea that he's worried about being able to work out with the team in August. He should have Ciara walk on his back. That'll fix it!
