Its a 3 way between Atlanta, Bucks, and NY

We traded away Doleac and Van Horn and got Tim Thomas and and Nazi Mohammed.

Tim Thomas is young, same as Marbury about. Mohammed is a true C in the east. Both guys are good finishers. Thomas is very athletic, so look for ale-oops from Steph. On the other hand, we gave up better stats when Van Horn and Tim Thomas are compared. I have mixed feelings about this trade.

New York gets Tim Thomas and Nazr Mohammed

Atlanta gets Michael Doleac and Joel Pryzbilla

Milwaukee gets Keith Van Horn

Van Horn is a better scorer and rebounder than Thomas. THomas isn't known for his D but we will see if he proves to be better there than KVH. But we know Thomas has never lived up to his potential and has been as maddening as Keith. Right now Thomas is having his best year and he's only up to 14.3 points or so.

Mohammed is 6-10 250 and is more of an inside presence than Doleac. But he's been a backup and injury prone the last couple of years. He once got 9.7 ppg and 7.9 rpg in a season as starting center (averaging about 26 mins.) He can't step out and hit the jumper like Doleac though. He also can't block shots.

My thoughts are mixed as well. I was hoping to add a solid defender, and I've always expected tim thomas to be a lot better than he was. I do know that he adds a lot of athleticism on the court. He's a solid finisher and always lurks around the basket for putbacks. I've been growing frustrated with Van Horn's lack of toughness.

two 26 year old atheltic guys who can really contribute now and in the next 5-7 years, awesome complement to what we already have... that's a tremendous job, even though I've always been a KVH fan (so what???).

This trade could be interesting... if H20's knees are ok, we've a very nice team... I can't realize that Thomas have changed so many players in two months... that's A-M-A-Z-I-N-G...

I stil ahve to check their contracts though...

Whateva! Watch Tim Thomas and Nazr Mohammed step up their games with the Knicks. Isiah knows what he's doing. Messiah Thomas!!!

I am SO glad this deal went down. So much for all the "KVH won't be traded this year" crap. LOL

The question now is: Is Isiah Done dealing???

i dont know if i like the trade or not yet, i dont know enough about the players we got. I do think that isiah wanted to deal van horn to get rid of the layden players though.

i feel bad for kvh. he doesnt deserve this kinda treatment. Who cares if he was one of the last aquisitions of the laydumb era. he is very vital to the knicks team. nets lost to the finals last yr simply cuz they were lacking outside shooting : KVH. Also, eventho KVH isn't a great defender and ball handler, he makes it up by rebounding. plus, he did well over the last stretch of games. I dont remember hearing tim thomas scoring over 25+ this season. I havent checked his stats but 14 ppg is sad. I like nazr, i think hes a upgrade over doleac. IMHO, we just made the BUCKS soooo much better! I hope tim thomas does well for the knicks. I hope im mistaken. Also, theres too many damn thomas' in this team. I bet kurt wont like having the adiditional K. on the back of his jersey hHHhahahaa GO NY GO

Point well made , Milwaukeee just got so much better with KVH. Tim Thomas is playing layzie like he's on drugs or something.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

mixed feelings

van horn was a big contributor

i havent seen mohammed play but i think he'll give us an legit presence down low, instead of dead wood mutumbo

and tim thomas is definately an athletic cat who can dunk on you and even hit the 3,though im sure his fast break contributions will be the most important part.

Wow, I'm a little shocked by this trade. I also have mixed feelings, but Tim and Mohammed can both become beasts. I hope we get a pick back, then I would like the trade a little more. I'm surprised that Isiah would do a trade like this because KVH is a better player than Timmy right now, Timmy has very good potential though. Two big trades in New York sports this weekend, first the A-Rod deal, now this. Wow..
