Minnetonka Police say Minnesota Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley was cited for marijuana possession and speeding in Minnetonka last week.

Beasley was pulled over on June 26 for speeding around 3 a.m. on Interstate 394 and Carlson Parkway. He was clocked at 84 mph in a 65 mph zone.

Police also found 16.2 grams of marijuana in Beasley's vehicle.

I'm just happy that he's buying alot of ganja and not just small amounts. He is a millionaire.

I wonder what will happen - I mean, there is a lockout right now. Can they still fine him?

Why do these guys ride around with Marijuana in their car? Don't they know they should either spoke before or after they get in the car. A black man in an expensive car at 3 am is a clear racial profile for a cop, so you have to know that your potential for being stopped is VERY HIGH, so why ride around with evidence? Just stupid.

Lake Minnetonka huh...Maybe he was purifying himself after a game of one on one with Prince.

meh. both the speed and the amount of pot he had were misdemeanor - he'll get a small fine. lucky for him the NBA can't do anything to him because of the lockout, or their fine would surely be higher.

Right because cops are able to see into cars at 3 AM and profile out the blacks. Racism!

The game would probably be better if more players smoked. It would sure extend their careers due to its muscle relaxant and pain killing properties. Still a matter of time till the first player(s) get a medicinal prescription. Will love the look on David Stern's face...

Great point about the lockout. The team is not allowed to contact him. LOL

Wouldn't it also inhibit muscle rehabilitation?

We truly need to discuss the intelligence level of a millionaire who plays a game for a living:
1) killing off brain cells which would contribute to the inability to realize any of the points above, including what it does to one's lungs.
2) being a millionaire ball player doesn't make you high on life every day
3) someone obviously already getting stupid on weed would be smart enough to figure out that you don't:
a) carry it around with you anywhere. Are you afraid of losing that particular bag of weed?
b) drive faster than the posted speed limit while using or carrying

It's sort of like the stupid alcohol commercial catch phrase: Please Toke responsibly, especially if you're going to drive on the patrolled interstate later.

I think a lot of guys smoke. Most just don't get caught. Chandler got caught last summer. Josh Howard has been pretty out there about his habits. C-Webb got caught smoking on his way to practice when he was a Bullet. Chief and Walton smoked. I think it is a pretty prevelant thing in the NBA.

At very least put the doobage in the trunk and lock it. They can't search there without a warrant. And drive under 80 mph in a 65 mph zone, since that won't raise flags as often.
