Shumpert has outstanding lateral quickness and good hands. He's one of the top steals guys in the draft. He's the defensive PG/SG we've been looking for. He's also really strong for a guard.

And he'll learn to shoot the 3 just like Bowen did.

The way Rondo pick us alive, this is starting to look like a very good pick...and he can play point way better then TD..Im pretty certain TD is trade chip at this point

Thing is he's got great form. So i'm not the least worried about his shooting. People don't realize how good this kid can be. What he does great right now translates to the next level and that is defense!!! So many here complained that we never draft defensive player and then when we take the best defensive guard in the draft they complain. HYPOCRITES!!!

His shot looks good, his handle looks good. The athleticism speaks for itself. He also shows flashes of being a passer. He steals from passing lanes. I like this pick actually.

I think what happened was that even though we needed a PG and a Center, the drop off in talent to who was available was just too great. And who knows, maybe Shumpert can be turned into a PG?

Rose is not the answer.

80% from the line this season. Frequently indicates that a shooter has good form, IMO.

Red flags about his decision making, but we have to hope that the Knicks did their HW with the kid.

Love the fact that he can play D, probably at the 1,2, and even the 3 position.

Yeah this kid has size, length, speed, hops etc. He can shoot better than people realize. His form is nice. Once MDA gets his hands on him, he'll improve. I love the fact that he's a SG that can pass and he's already serious about defense and has the physical tools to get the job done.

I'm cool with this....

“@alanhahn: Plan is that Shumpert can defend 2's next to Chauncey and then Chauncey can play 2 on offense and Shumpert can play pick-n-roll.”

What does this project offer on the offensive side? Seriously.

This is exactly what i am hoping is the case. Shumpert can easily be starting SG next season.

This kid is going to run the offense? Ugh.

This guy Iman is gonna be a good guard for NY
but he isnt a PG or PG-24x7

He does too many thing decent but PG won't be on top of that list
NY will like the defensive end, that's where this kid starts out

"The Knicks gave their fans reason to groan in passing on Florida State defensive specialist Chris Singleton to grab Shumpert. He's a defense-first player as well -- one who is a phenomenal athlete and dangerous scorer -- but he wasn't considered a first-round pick by a lot of teams." - CNNSI.com

Why are we always drafting players that we hope can be turned into PGs? Why can't we ever draft a PG?

Cnnsi is full of crap. Lots of people had Shumpert going top 15.
