What's his value to other teams?

Chris Sheridan (3:45 PM)

By opting in, he becomes immediately tradeable. He was not a happy camper in the loker room last season, but if they move him they MUST get another center in return. Right now, him and Jerome Jordan are all they have.

My guess is his playing time under D'Antoni

OR

Upset about the mid-season trade.

D'Antoni yoyo'd him in and out of the lineup, under the guise that he had nagging injuries. Maybe he did, but if he felt fine enough to play, I could see him being frustrated with D'Antoni about getting 25 minutes one game and being a game changer, to getting 8 minutes the next.

I don't understand that at all. It was clear to me and I would think anyone watching that Turiaf couldn't log heavy minutes. To try and lay another one of those unhappy player deals on MDA is just ridiculous. The guy kept breaking down. Is that imagined?

You really can't say that he was frustrated with the philosophy because he came from Golden State. It is hard to speculate on why, it is to bad Sheridan wasn't more clear.

Just saw turiaf was unhappy? Any trades involving turiaf?

Something crazy like:
Bynum + artest for turiaf, Douglas and billups?

If the lakers are that upset and they loved turiaf, possibility?

We could then draft a point guard...it guts us, but Bynum next to amare is title contention with melo.

Let's go Knicks. That's amare

You know Nix, I am continually amazed by how you patiently respond to the "I blame MDA" posts day in and day out. I mean there is a one line rumor about someone being unhappy in the locker room and immediately there are attempts to pin this on the coach. All I can do SMH and laugh. But you keep trying to convince them with reason and facts. I truly admire your dedication though it beats me how you do it.

TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

Turiaf, billups and douglas for lopez, Nash and Childress?

Bynum is a different pipe dream. :-)

yeah, Im kinda in this boat. Very weird about Turiaf.

But the timing of opting in on his contract is also very weird, guess he is OK with a trade.

The thing is that no coach is perfect. We all know that MDA has flaws, but at the same time this endless stream of bashing is over the top. It's often baseless. This much we saw in the playoffs and even the end of the season. The team NEVER stopped trying. They may not have been good enough, or healthy, or big enough or have enough chemistry, but the team played REALLY hard against the C's and until they lost CB and STAT got hurt they put up a respectable fight against a team with far more experience together. If Mike was such a hated coach in the lockerroom how is that possible he got so much out of the team.

i think you've said it on this site more than anyone... the guy is a 15mpg player so i would really hope he wasn't complaining about playing time. dude is, was and will always be hurt. he's a quick energy burst kinda player.

How about turiaf and billups for Lebron, and we trade douglas to the Cavs for the number one pick?

To be honest, does anyone think he was actually unhappy in the locker room? I don't really believe that

I never thought it. He always seemed to be very positive. Sheridan later said something to the effect that it didn't have an impact on his oncourt demeanor. He used different words but you can look back. I wish he wasn't so vague. My first thought is that the locker room changed a lot after the trade but there is no verification of that.
