For all the lovers of Love, how many wins have they had since they picked him up? I like him a lot on the offensive end, and he is obviously a great rebounder, but there is a reason why Minnesota once again has a high pick in the draft, and why they will probably take a player who plays the same position as Love does on draft day.
Gasol was getting called out by Phil Jackson in this year's playoffs for poor defense and he didn't respond. Love just broke Moses Malone's double double record. You saw what he did to the Knicks. Love is only 22 Gasol is 30 and flaked out in the playoffs. Sounds like you're putting their losses squarely on Love. Instead of replacing him, better to surround Love with more talent. If Gasol was somehow the missing piece to turn them into serious contenders I'd understand the logic.
So in essence, you're asking, "What's Love got to do with it?"
Nah- I know their losses are not only due to Love, but neither was he good enough help them get out of the lottery.
Who do you look at to blame on Minnesota, though? You can take individuals from that team and claim they had decent seasons, but in the end, the team still sucked, and Love was a major player.
I would not mind Love on the Knicks, but on any team he plays for you have to have the right people surrounding him.
Maybe Minnesota feels Love wants to leave, and is trying to get something back for him by trading him to a team he will probably want to stay with, which has the ability to resign him.
Minnesota also gets a big man in decline who will be united with his countryman, Rubio, and help Ricky become acclimated in the U.S..
