1) Darius Morris
2) Nikola Vucevic
3) Marshon Brooks
4) Josh Selby
5) Jimmer Fredette
6) Chris Singleton
7) Lucas Nougeira
8) Jeremy Tyler
9) Iman Shumpert
10) Donatas Motiejunas

I think the ideal draft for this team would be snagging Morris and Vucevic.

I think they definitely need to get a guard who can join the rotation and a big who can join the rotation and have an impact on the boards and interior defense.

17th Pick

1. Jimmer
2. BPA in the PG and C spot

Purchase a couple of picks and select Greg Smith and Keith Benson.

If we get a PF/C type with the 17th pick, then I would want to get Ben Hansbrough in the 2nd rd.

There are so many players in this draft with angles and ties to this organization city. Of those we worked out thus far

Jimmer Fredette being from the New York area Knicks fan
Tobias Harris connection with H2O and Tennessee and being from the New York area Knicks fan
Josh Selby with ties to Melo
Klay Thompson has family in the New York area
John Holland being from the New York area Knicks fan
Rick Jackson played at Syracuse ties to Rautins Knicks fan

I feel most confident as I have for a while now that Shelvin Mack should be the guard we're focused on. He's Billups personified. IMO probably the best 2 way prospect in the draft at his position. Loved what he had to say in his Pre-Draft workout video.

I want Benson and Mack from this draft if there is any way possible

It's seems difficult to gauge the value at Pick 17. I like so many players projected after the pick...

With that said I would be happy on draft night with the following choices:

1. Nikola Vucevic or Donatas Motiejunas
2. Nolan Smith, Josh Selby or Darrius Morris

I feel all those players have talent and can contribute from day one. Yes, I want another pick because we shouldn't leave this draft without a pg. Chris Paul or not.

Had enough Melo?

I would have added K Thompson but I dont think he will be available by 17.

The key is getting a PG or C/PF, preferably a center. A SG would be nice but its a luxury. Biyombo would be a grea pick but it seems he wont be there. I love Marcus Morris but he would have no place on this team. Markieff doesn't have great size otherwise I like him. He can do the dirty work. Singleton is an average prospect and I think Tobias Harris is a bad tweener. I would hate both of them at that spot. I think Faried is just too small and would force Amare to play center anyway. Bertans is about the worst pick possible.

Morris, Selby, or Nolan Smith. Those are the 3 guys I would aim for. Selby is a nice scorer, he can penetrate, and is just a flat out playmaker. But I see some Johnny Flynn recklessness in him. I think Nolan Smith is a better well rounded PG who has experince with the pick and roll. And Darius Morris looks to be a solid PG as well but he seems to have a limited ceiling and isn't much of a scorer. Jimmer is a tricky one. I dont know how well his game will translate into the pros. But I'm not against the pick. We will just have a really poor defensive team if we go that direction. I dont know the other foreign players much at all. But I can say Valanciunas is an overrated prospect.

It's really a tough choice with so many needs and so many potential solid rotation guys available at 17. I would really be fine with any of these guys:

1. Selby - not a sure thing, but so much upside and if they pick him you have to be confident since Melo is so familiar with him
2. Singleton - don't think he'll be available, but would love to have a big guy that is known for his defense and isn't named Jared Jeffries
3. Vucevic - I'm intrigued by his production, size, and pedigree. If you take him we can always get a solid guard later in the 1st or early 2nd
4. Thompson - has the size and shooting ability to make a big impact. doubt he'll be there but would definitely snatch him up if he is
5. Fredette - if he's avialable at 17 I'm OK with taking him, but would still lke these other guys ahead of him
6. Faried - his rebounding will translate to the NBA and that is definitely something the team needs

To be honest, I also wouldn't be upset with Reggie Jackson or Darius Morris. So many freaking options!!

1. Iman Shumpert - Love his size, length and athletic ability, Lockdown Defense and he seems to be a humble kid. Upside is sick. I moved him up after hearing that his shooting seems better than advertised. I liked everything else about him
2. Jimmer Fredette - Love his shooting, guts and overall skills. not happy about D, which slid him down on my list
3. Nikola Vucevic - Would love for the Knicks to get a 2nd pick and select this kid. Perfect fit for our team.
4. Marshon Brooks - slick scorer with good size
5. Josh Selby - Major upside
6. Klay Thompson - Pure SG and good pedigree
7. Donatas Montiejunas - Like his size and skill level
8. Darius Morris - I love big PG's. Great passing and tough inside.
9. Chris Singleton - Love his size and athletic ability. Seems like a good garbage man and fastbreak big.
10.Kenneth Faried - Not a big enough guy for C, but a good high energy Forward like Reggie Evans.

I didn't put Bismack Biyombo on here, cuz I don't think he'll fall to us.

I need to update my top-5.

1. Klay Thompson (Kevin Martin upside, will be a solid SG off bench at worst)
2. Marshon Brooks (upside appears to be Nick Young-type, downside is still strong rotation scorer, like Jordan Crawford)
3. Iman Shumpert (seems like he has that physically-elite Tyreke Evans, Russell Wesbrook look to him, i just hope he's not the next Crittenden)
4. Markieff Morris (could be nice fit next to Stoudemire as poor-man's Al Horford)
5. Nikola Vucevic (seems like the best center option that doesn't have big bust potential)

Vucevic (basketball pedigree and advanced skills in a center’s body which is only 20 years old. Biggest concern is his D, but I think he is smart enough to improve his game over time.)

Donatas Motiejunas (Lots of red flags with this guy- especially having to do with effort, but if he was to fall to 17 and Vucevic was gone, he might be worth the risk, especially if we can pick up a guard with a bought pick. Have the Knicks mentioned him or worked him out- or do they expect him to be gone? I expect he is a guy who will give many teams headaches when deciding if he is worth an early pick, but the guy has a fluid offensive game and can shoot with either hand. I would be surprised if he drops to #17.)

Fredette (Doubt if he will fall to #17, but I have doubts about his defensive ability. Have to figure that MDA would like him, but we need some D in the frontcourt, especially a shot blocker, to make me feel good about taking this guy.)

Charles Jenkins (Was here with Shumpert… who did better? I like the local pedigree, but he also seems to have excellent offensive skills, as well, and comes across as an intelligent kid who will adapt his game. A sleeper pick, as some have said, or a stretch?)

R. Jackson (Feel he is similar to Jenkins. If we take Vucevic, he would be a good person with a bought pick. A strange jumper, but folks who criticize it may not remember Magic’s jumper.)

Chris Singleton (I’d like him a lot more if he was about 2 inches taller. Where would he play with the Knicks? We really have to keep Amare at PF this year, and Singleton does not have the size for 5. He would be better on a team with a more developed roster than ours, IMO.)

Iman Shumpert (great athlete- don’t think he can be a PG, and his shooting may be suspect- not my first choice unless they really saw something when he was here. Has the capacity to be a steal or a bust at #17.)

Marshon Brooks (Not at #17, though. Seems to have enough holes in his game- shot selection- turnover/assist ratio, etc, to make me wonder. Was he just a volume scorer on a poor team?)

Lucas Nogueira (I think he is working out for us. Seems a stretch at #17 unless he really wows the Knicks. Not much complexity in his offensive game at this point from what I saw. Don’t know if he has a buyout clause in his contract. Seems to have some attitude issues from what I have read. Love his shot blocking, though, and he already has a nickname…Bebe, which will make up for us never having a chance to appreciate Nene.)

Keith Benson (project pick with a purchased #2. Good candidate for the DL so he can work on his inside game.)

No man is happy without a delusion of some kind. Delusions are as necessary to our happiness as realities- C.N. Bovee
