![]() Nice info Nixluva. I really don't know much about his game. I would sooner take a chance on a flyer than go with a senior that is a bench player at best. We can always sign a bench player.
Any of you guys remember Caddyshack? Tell me Selby doesn't sound a bit like Bill... http://www.theknicksblog.com/2011/06/04/video-josh-selby-talks-workout/ The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. ![]() He's an undersized sg who shot 37.3% from the field. He should go back to college.

![]() Watching the videos, he sure is an athlete. Watching the interview I wonder how smart the kid is - I don't mean to sound judgemental and the kid is only 20 but does anyone know about his BBIQ? The PG needs more BBIQ than most other positions and I think we saw Westbrook getting by on athleticism and then making bad decisions late in games.
Again, Selby has home run potential. You could imagine what a pain in the as s he would be with Melo and Stat out there as well. He could break down defenses almost at will. Jenning slipped because he's a dummy, whereas Selby slipped because The NCAA apparently had a problem with Selby’s longtime association with Robert Frazier, who is Carmelo Anthony’s business manager and fellow Baltimore native. Selby’s family had always maintained that Frazier was merely an advisor, but the NCAA deamed otherwise. http://thehoopdoctors.com/online2/2010/11/josh-selby-cleared-at-kansas-after-9-game-suspension-and-paying-fine/ Also, he was Rivals' number one high school recruit. Not really 100 percent certain if I would draft him or not... but I definitely won't be upset if that happened DLeethal wrote:

I don't think anyone can unless they watched him play HS ball, given how his freshman year played out Eric Gordon was a popular comparison heading into the year. I don't think he was ever asked to be a pure point guard though... more or less asked to fill the LeBron James role of initiating the offense and being THE guy. And I think he has more PG acumen than Gordon had I do think he's got enough talent and ability to get Amar'e and Melo the ball. Playing behind Chauncey and having Amar'e and Melo as targets should help him to learn that part of the game DLeethal wrote:

![]() Watching that video, this kids read and react abilities are crazy. If he's there I say we take him but I've said that about at least 2 other prospects as well. I wish we could get more picks but I guess thats not going to happen now that Donnie is gone, right?

But his off-the court issues don't seem to be of the "he's a bad person" variety. He's not a true point and not a true off guard, but he has as much talent as anyone in this draft. Certainly a risk, but it may be worth taking with the type of talent on the Knicks. It isn't as though we'd be asking him to learn from Stephon Marbury DLeethal wrote:

![]() This won't be Brandon Jennings II. Like I said the Knicks have all kinds of inside info on the kid. Melo has known him for a while and Billups is working directly with the kid.

![]() One thing you have to love about Selby is his size, at 6'4 he gives ua a big pg. He's about the same size as Darius Morris so you have to look at whta separates the two. Selby is the better athlete, scorer but from what I've seen of Morris, he's a better passer and looks to have more of a pg mentality.
But who is the better fit for us especially looking at the teams (Heat, Celts, etc) ahead of us. I think we need a third scorer at some point and right now we are not getting that from the 2 (Fields) or the 5(?). Selby would give us that third scorer at the point, similar to Billups. If Fields is in the future plans, Selby might not be a bad look at all. Personally, I wouldn't mind the Knicks taking a long look at Brooks. My top three at 17 are: M. Brooks |
