![]() Well he deserves congratulations for a great career! It's hard to believe his body held up decently as long as it did.

![]() Shaq certainly deserves props for his career. He is differnt from other big men in that he is media friendly and doesn't have reputation as being unapproachable. This will certainly help him in his post basktetball life.

![]() Shaq is one of the all time greats, a class act, funny as hell - I hope he gets on TV, he would be great at it.

![]() Hated him in Orlando when he always seemed to one-up Ewing in their head to heads.
Overall, one of the best to ever play the game. Great personality. He will be missed. Especially with all the milquetoast young bucks headlining the league today. TV gig in his future?...or will he be Sheriff Shaq? It Is Solved By Walking

![]() Does that now leave the title of the League's Best Rapper to Ron Artest?
I wonder if this guy is going to go into law enforcement like he's been saying these past few years. A real lovable character and a hell of a center in his prime. Big up the Big Aristole. Baba Booey 2016 — "It's Silly Season"

![]() If Shaq replaces Barkley on TNT I'm all for it.
Anyway, yeah, Shaq's basically borderline Mount Rushmore as far as centers go. |

The play that sticks out in my mind is one time Ewing was running up court and Shaq just pushed him in the back to throw him off stride. Shaq then zipped past him to get in position for an easy layup. Ewing just howled at the ref over the blown call. Bring back dee-fense

He made a lot of ignorant comments such as the Yao Ming comment or the "Don't let white boys dunk on you comments." I'm pretty sure that was when he was in LA too. It took him awhile to grow above saying stuff like that. “Whenever I’m about to do something, I think ‘Would an idiot do that?’ and if they would, I do NOT do that thing.”- Dwight Schrute

![]() One of the most dominant big men of all time but this dude should have retired years ago, he's been stealing money from NBA teams for the past 3-4 years IMO.

![]() Shaq destroyed the center position. How many Shaq wannabes came and went. He was responsible for the production of no talent center who wanted to get by on size alone.
Although Shaq won some championships he should have left the game with a lot more rings. He was a great center that could have been the greatest of all time but never invested the time needed to be better than he was sort of an underachiever. |

Then again, that was more Phil Jackson's managing of his and Kobe's out-of-control egos long enough to win. -- the preceding post was brought to you by the letter K and the number 22.

![]() Great Career. Shaq was the last to know that he retired. glad he finally figured it out. He actually retired during that season in Phoenix.

![]() I ran into him at a shop on W. 8th street a few years back. I said "hi" and expressed my admiration for his game. He actually responded politely and was an overall nice guy about it (considering he had an entourage with him, he could easily have brushed me off). I respected that and always thought he was a solid center, top-ten all-time without question.
Great career (19 years? whoa). He should retire as he has nothing left in the tank and his body is done. |

![]() Looks like Sheriff Shaq it is then...
Dime: When your contract expires, assuming that you’ll retire, where will you be? What will you be doing? Still could do some Barkley-esque job for one of the networks on the side...hopefully. http://dimemag.com/2011/06/shaq-a-sit-down-with-the-last-don/ It Is Solved By Walking
