I don't care if Faried is undersized as long as he has the motor and heart to grab boards. Because we really don't have anyone that has that hunger.
completely disagree. Did you see Stat early on in the year? He tried the role of a guy who initiated his own offense and it failed a lot. See him with Nash-type and watch the beauty of the PnR where all Amare has to do is finish at rim or make open jumpshot.
IMHO Faried is nice if you already have a C and need beef off the bench. Knicks need rebounders, but they need defense and PG more.
Yes- I did.
But, with Melo, and a full off season, and new coach
, then I think Melo's play making abilities should be maximized - e.g., lots of action with the two of them on the same side of the court.
Also- we have Chauncy still for one more year.
This is all in - so, with Chauncy, Melo and Stat - we need an inside presence and defense. I think our biggest weakness on defense was giving up additional possessions. Limit that, and I think that is the quickest, easiest way to improve.
That said- I will trust Walsh to make the best pick possible based on talent, and if that is a PG we are developing for the future, then great.
But I don't think we should be picking on MDA and his system and needs, as I think he is gone after this season. Baring miracle.
