Jamal would be a perfect fit for this team. He could start in the back court with Toney Douglas and he's a shooter and scorer and creator from the backcourt that this team desperately needs. And he excelled in D'Antoni's system in the brief time he has was here w/D'Antoni.

He's also four years younger than Chauncey Billups.

Waive Chauncey. Sign Jamal. Draft/sign a center.

Next year will be better.

no way no how. Got to build for long term and Crawford aint it. I would rather have Chauncey on a 1 year deal and then go after CP3 or Deron.

CP3 scares me. And I'm not sure that investing all the remaining money in a PG solves things. (though having a guard who could penetrate AT ALL would be nice.)

Just as long as it does not put us in jeopardy with getting Chris Paul.

start in the backcourt with toney D? have you been watching these games?

i like renouncing billups, but i think they'd be silly to not try to bring him back cheap. let him test the market, i doubt anyone's breaking the bank for the guy.

a lot will be determined by the new cap and how its structured. that being said, knicks need basiaclly everything but a SF and PF. i would put everyone else on the market and see what you can swing.

CP3 is scaring the Lakers as we speak, but I hear you on the knee; I have always liked Deron over him just for that.

And I am not sure investing in Crawford solves anything at all. He is good as a 6th man at about $6M per on a team that already has their starting positions filled, but that's it.

speaking of crawford, he just hit an absolutely ridiculous shot to likely seal a W over orlando.

crawford's a good ball-handler but we got MELO to close out games and score. we need a defensive PG or a guy who can break a D down off the dribble and drive.

what's your argument? melo takes that shot for the knicks, not crawford.

crawford's skills are redundant with melo. JC wasn't even on the floor the last play b/c he can't play D. we don't need more defensive liabilities. i love crawford but no thanks. we need size, defense, toughness -- crawford doesn't give us any.

So every year we are going to try to make a splash in free agency?

I don't see Deron or Paul making it to free agency anyway.

We need to roll with our 2 stars and try to win now.

We need players like

Wes Matthews
Tony Allen
C.J. Miles
Shane Battier
Luc Richard
Wilson Chandler
Danilo Gallinari(he's probably more a stretch 4)
Sonny Weems
Nicolas Batum
Grant Hill(although he's old)
Alonzo Gee

More true 2-3 2-way players not Jamal Crawford because he's a free agent

We need a 3rd all star quality player.

You have a great list. Problem is getting those guys won't be easy.

I might welcome jamal back, anything to increase the talent level on this team, outside of melo and amare..

also expand shawn williams role..

Jamal Crawford is 31 and plays terrible defense. I'll pass.
