I'm now convinced we are better than the Celtics. I think there's still a chance to win 4 out of the next 5. We have to figure out a way to execute down the stretch, but we have had a late lead over the Celtics 5 out of 6 times at this point. Competing with this team is not the issue. If we can get Amare on the floor and just have another offensive option we can win this series. At the very least I think with a full season next year, we will definitely be up there with top 3-4 teams in the conference.

Carmelo and a lot of the Knicks bit players proved today that they play with heart. One thing to be a superstar talent, but another thing to compete like that.

I don't think it's possible anymore. It's blatantly obvious that we just can't execute down the stretch and unless we blow them out, we just have to hope they miss their gamewinning shots

The only question that remains now is how many games we're going to lose this series in.

Knicks will compete. I think they will find a way to win a game even without Amare.

Amare and Melo > Celtics

Problem is we need at least 1 guy to step up. We have no PG to control the flow.

We got robbed in game 1 and almost pulled game 2 out without STAT and Chauncey. We're coming home, the Garden will be rocking and STAT should be good to go by Friday. This series is far from over! I still think think this series goes 7 and we win it. The Celtics have been lucky but luck only goes so far.

The C's have experience on their side. We don't have the same level of chemistry cuz the team was just put together, but the Knicks can easily win a game if we can get healthy and get some home cooking. Our supporting cast hasn't been good so far, but sometimes playing at home allows the role players to play better and that may just be the edge we need. I still feel good about this series.

4 out of 5 is possible. i'm gonna feel like crap about this in the morning but at the moment i'm proud to wear a knicks orange towel on my shoulder and tote a big amear poster, which i just did on the subway home.

I don't know how many games in the NBA constitutes "the long run," but the Celtics have been fortunate to take ALL of these close games. I think that will even out at some point. I hope its gonna be soon, but I understand that it may not be. But I think when the Knicks really sync up they will be a better team than the Celtics.

Vdesai.....you have been the best poster on this board for years...i used to read you during the hard times....when I used to post...these times aren't as hard as they used to be....this team put up an awesome effort without two of their best three players...I sat on my seat the whole game and without two of the best players we played them. And we almost won cause of

It was awesome...we lost and yes I agree we can beat them cause they are very old and ****ing rondo can't even hit a free throw

I am gutted. Twice in a row we let it go down to the wire, made some key mistakes, and the calls didn't go our way.

Rough stuff.

Appreciate the kind words Cash. I'm more optimistic after this team after tonight, while simulatenously being down in the dumps about the loss. Its a weird feeling. That was a game they had to steal, and the blew the opportunity, but they still showed a lot of heart and grit and I think Carmelo proved a lot about what kind of player we are getting in the long run. This team is in clear need of being able to play together a bit more so they can execute down the stretch. Still they were able to gut out an extremely competetive game in some very adverse circumstances.

Right now, I just want to know Amar'e is good and he will come back next game. I trully believe if we had him out there, we would lead by more than 5 in the last seconds.

I can't stand Boston. Would be soooo sweet to come back and take this series.

Im hurt but not out. Go NY!

It's been brutal. If Stat and Billups are at full strength we take game 2 easily. Unfortunately that's the way the cookie crumbles. What can you do?

We need a deeper team, you and I both know that - but this squad has truly put up a valiant effort. It just sucks for it to come down to the last second in both games.

You really do have to almost laugh at the hilariously bad things that have happend to the Knicks over the last decade. But then you remember how painful every single one of those things has been.

Boston will win this series but they are done. Rebuilding starting next year...
We are not there yet. Ways to go. But this kind of games make the team.
And yes we have only 3 NBA palyers. You need more to win that one...

I'm proud of this team right now. We could easily be coming home up 2-0 against the defending EC champs. We caught a few bad breaks and lost 2 heartbreakers.

I'm not going to make any prediction on how this series finishes up. All I'm looking for from this team is to keep up the intensity. Hoping this thing with Amar'e is not serious, sounds like he'll be fine for Game 3.

I am more excited about this team than I have been in a LONG time. Right now, we're showing that we can hang with the big boys.
STAT took over Game 1, Melo played out of this world in Game 2...if we can get both guys playing a solid game together, Boston's going to **** themselves.

We can't talk about 4 out of 5. That's a tall order. Let's just talk about Game 3. 2-1 is very realistic to overcome. After Game 4, we're back to a level playing field.

Be scared Boston. Fortune smiled your way and you just barely escaped. Now welcome to our house.

I'm pretty inconsolable right now, but if Amare comes back...
