Game 1 was a morale victory if there is such a thing. They know we are foreal and therefore will not take us lightly. I say stick with MDA's plan of backing off Rondo and crash the boards on defense. Know one wants to give MDA and the team credit for the defensive scheme deployed and the execution of said scheme. Pierce, Allen and KG were held in check due to excellent first line defense, 2nd chance pts from offensive rebs is an issue. The good 1st line defense gets us out of position to rebound and out lack of height prevents us from recovering like bigger teams can. Amare forced KG to play defense as did Melo do to Pierce. Our guards chased Allen off every screen and our bigs stepped out on screen to slow Allen as well. We gave up 87pts !!!!! Thats all, 20pts below our season average !!! I don't think we are in trouble because what we need to improve upon is what we do best, SCORE and be EFFICIENT doing it !!! The Celtics can't change what they do as a team just like we can't change who we are. The refs had a hand in the loss, however, if we are playing MDA basketball ( scoring closer to 100pts ) with defensive effort like game 1, we will win. Can it be done ?? YES !! Again, deploy the same defensive scheme and the same effort and we will get the same defensive results. They have NO explosive scorers except Allen who relies on screens and we defended them well except the last 5 mins of the game and that was not because of effort or scheme because it didn't change. What changed is that TD was guarding him who is a good 2 inches shorter than Allen, instead of Landry or Walker, which allowed Allen to shoot over TD. Thats it.
