i agree with this guy. the last Knicks home game of the regular season should be jammed with Donnie appreciation chants. for all the "Fire So-and-so" chants and all the "MVP" and "Melo" chants, there needs to be a...

This is genius eVil. Finally a positive show of support for the team rather than the usual "Man Up" about whatever trade/draft pick threads that people post incessantly around here. If I go to any of the last 3 games i'm definitely starting this chant.

Bravo my brother, Bravo!!!

I hope this goes viral. The man is most responsible for getting this in order. When you think about how quickly he turned this around and with relatively few assets he did this with--WOW. If you told me the KNicks would have Melo and Amar'e the day Walsh signed I would've laughed my ass off.

He's done a phenomenal job

I actually sent an email to Tommy Dee, of theknicksblog.com, asking him to write something up about it. Wish I would've seen that link, so I could've attached it. I hope the chant comes to fruition.

What you guys don't realize is Isiah is responsible for getting Stat and Melo, and would have gotten Bron and Wade too. Your appreciation is misplaced. Fortunately Dolan knows this and will bring back the Cap'n to finish the job by getting CP3 and Howard.

Chant For Donnie

Yesterday the Knicks clinched a winning record for the first time in a decade, the Knicks are officially back. Basketball is finally relevant again in New York City. As the likely 6 seed, the Knicks are a team that nobody wants to face in the playoffs.

Knick fans, with the last home game of the regular season tomorrow against the Bulls there is no better time to show our appreciation to the architect behind this resurgence, Donnie Walsh, in the form of a simple “Thank You Donnie” chant heard from the rafters at the Garden all the way down to the court.

I urge all of you in attendance tomorrow and those who are not to get the word out. Let’s show our appreciation to the man that has made New York City basketball relevant again and to the man who might not be here next season.

According to Alan Hahn from newsday.com:
There is a Twitter movement by some fans who are trying to encourage fans at Tuesday's regular-season finale at the Garden to start up a "Don-nie Wa-lsh!" chant to support the widely respected team president. It calls to mind the time during the 1999 playoff run when fans chanted for coach Jeff Van Gundy after Garden president Dave Checketts admitted he had talked to Phil Jackson about the job Van Gundy held.

Great news. But I hope they don't try to make two syllables out of walsh.

I am all for it. Of course Dolan could care less what the fans want, but let the national media tell the story.
