Seeing Chaunce go down and then Amar'e made me think that maybe these guys should take a seat until the playoffs. and MDA should let the guys on the bench showcase their potential.

I wouldn't mind seeing these guys play 30mpg or less but I think we all know MDA unfortunately won't let that happen.
Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

up as big as we were last night, MDA should have found a way to limit Amare to 35. Instead he was closer to 40.

I guess MDA wants to have a short 0 & 4 exit.

I think the Knicks should go balls-to-the-wall and head into the playoffs with full head of steam.

Not expecting a title run this year, a first round victory would be as much as you could expect. Steal a early game in Miami would be all kinds of fun.

So if I'm Knicks I sprint like I'm in a 40m race rather than job like a 400m race.

Thankfully, the NY football Giants didn't lay down in their final 2007 regular season game. They rode a head of steam right to an improbable Super Bowl title. I don't want anyone playing injured, but the time to raise up to playoff level has come. No sitting the stars. They need to be in battle rhythm going forward.

You pack 20,000 people to see your team play you play your best players and you go to win.

People pay good money to see a good game with these "stars".

Im sure resting is a good basketball move which might statistically increase the odds of winning but if the knicks do it, then the Celtics do it, or Miami does it so your star players are all rested but the fans get screwed.

Its easy if we don't go to games cuz we just change the channel.

I turn on the Knicks-nets and I don't see Deron, Chauns, Amear and Melo Im not watching.

Think if I drop $500 for tix they pull that crap Im going back so soon? PHuch that noise!

Don't be silly. The lesson you'd have learned from your scenario is that you aren't guaranteed to see starters play in the last games of the season. If you've got money you'll still buy tickets.. just not the last 5 games.

yeah it'd be interesting to see if there's a history of lower attendance in the last few games of the season.

You play them but give them less minutes. You don't want to disrupt flow.

Amare gets all the rest he needs on every defensive posession (well except a handful here and there)
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

If they feel good, you start them all, play them a few minutes then start managing minutes. Ideally, you would have a game with Melo as your main guy, Chauncey and Amar'e getting 22 minutes or less, especially in Amar'e's case. He seems to be more banged up right now, so if he'd rather miss the next game, let him.

But Melo plays. Not 40 minutes, but maybe 30-32 a game.

Essentially agree, but I don't like to take a pass on 4 games just because we made the playoffs. Play to win, else no need to get on the floor. I think Amare does need some rest (despite my facetious comment earlier in the thread), but I want to make sure we keep our momentum going. This team has three guys with playoff experience and then a bunch of players who have never even whiffed a winning record, momentum will be crucial for guys like Fields, TD, Walker etc. We don't want to see this kids "lose it" in the playoffs. Amd that means eitehr lose their confidence or go Anthony Randolph mode trying to do everything and not doing what he was supposed to do. Amare, Melo and CB all need to take a leadership stance this last 4 games and you can't do that if you are not playing.

hay makers, maybe. but trite, predictable arguments covered in bling. empty kitsch does not sway me. egalitarian drones are not creative.

players should rest. i await playoffs. must not rest too much as to disrupt rhythm.

I think Chauncey still needs to develop chemistry with the guys. But I would play him limited minutes... like 8 minutes in the first and all of the fourth quarter. I would rest Amar'e though... it's ridiculous to burn the workhorse out in meaningless games

i am knicks fan for life but my loyalty is really being put to the test with this hodge podge collective.

the days of gallo, of ill wilson, those were the good days of solid team ball and we had strong future.
