"Andy Rautins' rookie season is over. The second-round draft pick from Syracuse had what the Knicks call a "debridement" procedure to clean out his left knee, punctuating a season in which he played 24 minutes in five games."

If the young man is smart, he will attend a summer point guard camp, play in Las Vegas and work on his court alertness. His ball handling seemed adequate but far too casual for the defensive artists of the NBA.

Will He Return in A Knicks Uni?

Hopefully Rautins can be de-turnovered in the process.

Can anyone fabricate a teak handle for that young man to dribble the basketball?

I don't think Rautins is an NBA player. He's undersized, not fast enough or strong enough. Doesn't have the handle or quickness for PG.
We shouldn't have drafted him, but we did because we have a coach who values the 3 above all else. We should have choosen a big who was a project.

I wish him the best tho. I meant to say that. Going under the knife is never pleasant.

You mean like Jerome Jordan? Seriously though, to get all upset over a second round pick is a little absurd.

The same thought that gives you Fields gives you Rautins.

We took Jerome Jordan and signed Moz. Two bigs.

In fact we basically had two starters from that group.

Rautins is 6-4. Can shoot.

And yeah, you want that.

If he never plays a minute its no big deal. Lots of Second round picks don't make it.

Andy plays the fat ugly chick to Landry's hot supermodel. That dating mob scene episode was hilarious. I like how Landry dresses like he just left the shelter without a shower.

2nd rounders are a worse than 50-50% proposition. Be happy we hit on one.

Can we please waive Rautins and sign Earl Barron?

The Earl would be playoffs eligible. SIGN HIM.

At what point of the year must a player be on your roster to become playoff eligible?

I'm reasonably sure that there isn't a cutoff date for when a player needs to be on your roster to be playoff eligible. I do believe that a player needs to be a free agent BY a certain date and if they aren't then they wouldn't be playoff eligible. I believe this date is fairly soon after the trade deadline. I think that since Earl Barron was signed by Milwaukee recently that means he isn't playoff eligible for another team, but I'm not absolutely certain about that.

EDIT: According to Larry Coon, a player has to be waived before March 1. http://members.cox.net/lmcoon/salarycap.htm#Q102
