We need someone to help our rebounding and defense situation. Id rather try Sean Williams, but Id throw Barron in there I guess. I have to say the fact that we haven't signed him is telling. I don't think our staff was that impressed with him (in spite of the numbers).

More playable size and better defensive rebounding. Also will make a layup or close shot once in a while.

You could even here Clyde getting frustrated with Jefferies missing point blank. When your 6'11 240 or so its amazing that you can be that bad at finishing. Jeffries is perhaps the least skilled offensive player I have witnessed that played regularly in the NBA. How does he not know what do right next to basket? Either start finishing strong with some force or learn how to use the backboard. It doesn't take a lot. I don't need him to develop a jumpshot.

God, I'd give ANYTHING in the world for an explanation on this from either Donnie or Mike.

Looks like this has more to do with Mike than Donnie. More from Berman's twitter account:

Earl Barron is officially a free agent. Again, Walsh likes him. D'Antoni unsure if he'd play him. Sort of like Derrick Brown.

Wasn't I just talking about this on the 'C'mon people' thread?? This is my worst fear confirmed..I honestly believe there are things that Donnie is prepared to do to improve this club, small as they may be, that Mike simply doesn't get behind..You back up your GM 100%, schmuck. He's got your back..You at least try anything he wants you to try for the good of the club..This guy didn't have Donnie's back with Jordan Hill & Anthony Randolph (two very promising young big men with good upside and talent) and now it appears Donnie wants to bring back Barron and Mike is the one who could be holding it up..Guaranteed Mike was the one pushing for Jeffries btw..And guess what? Donnie obliged..Oh yeah, he never completely grabbed his boss's back publicly when it looked like Walsh's job was in jeopardy with King Dolan, which still might be the case..Wow..WTF? Did Barron not play well the first time around for this idiot? I seem to remember differently..Does this moron honestly believe Jeffries is a better big man?? Honestly, I think I'm done with D'Antoni.. We might need a fresh perspective.

Totally agree. D'Antoni also had a chance to back Walsh in the tabloids awhile back and instead of backing him gave a totally vanilla, safe answer instead of coming up strong for the guy that has had back from day 1 and protected him from the media and solved any uncomfortable situations that he had with players. It is time for the franchise to move on from this guy.

For all the great defense and rebounding Sheldon could provide, he will never see the floor for real in D'Antoni's rotation, so why not buy him out and give Barron a second chance.

What the F is wrong with D'Antoni? He admits his team has a problem at center, with him not sure what to do and not liking his options, and he negates one that he has had success with before and may bring something to this team? And don't come with the crap that Barron isn't good because you wont get anybody great at this point in the season. Just being tall and rebounding will be great enough.

And you guys wonder why some don't want Mike D back. The guy isn't flexible.

BIG +1. I don't think the man approaches everything with an open mind.

Barron pulled down a ton of rebounds in those 7 games he played for us, i have a hard time believing he couldn't do a better job on the boards than Jeffries is currently doing for us.

At the very least, I think tonight clearly showed that Jeffries wasn't much of a 'get' at all, as other posters would have you believe..AND Turiaf is the much better player between the two..At least Turiaf is much more capable of playing like a big man.

Adding Barron would mean the Knicks have the best rebounding big man on the team and most offensively capable Center. Between, Jefferies and Turiaff its pretty terrible how much the Knicks give away at the Center position.

i agree bro, Turiaf's issue is remaining healthy his interior defense is far & above better than anyone else on this team not even close... i'm not sure what people see in Jeffries the guy is a trainwreck when it comes to offense did you see him shoot that wide open J in the 1st half of this game he had all day to shoot it, took his time, set his legs & shot 1 of the ugliest shots i've ever seen while hitting the side of the backboard, the moan from the crowd was palpable... watching him shoot the ball is like watching a car accident happening in front of your eyes in slow motion u know it's gonna end in disaster but u just can't turn away... defensively he's nothing to write home about either, last year he was much more active on the defense since we've had him back he's been very slow on rotations his lateral movement is about 2 steps off from where he needs it to be... i realize he's seen limited action in games this year so he's probably still working his way into game shape but my God, it pains me to watch him on the court knowing we wasted millions of dollars trading for & buying out Corey Brewer just to get him back into a Knicks' uniform.

All depends on Bucks injuries to Drew Gooden and Ilyasova (concussion). Walsh likes Barron. D'Antoni not as much.Would have to make cut.

As reported, Walsh could get another crack at Earl Barron today as Bucks undecided whether to extend his second 10-day contract

Unbelievable.
