I dunno what the fascination is with this guy on this forum he's a horrible fit for a SSOL system he's a plodding halfcourt C if ever there was one & his defensive & rebounding skills aren't good enough for what this team is lacking right now... people wanna make a case for Deandre Jordan, Sam Dalembert, Kendrick Perkins or guys like that fine I can see the logic there, but if this team spends any money this summer i hope it's not on this guy.

I think whichever team ponies up 10 million+ for him is going to get a season or two of great play before his career goes like Erick Dampier's

Marc isnt the ideal player with the guys we have now. A healthy Andrew Bynum would be ideal but thats not happening.

Gasol wouldn't necessarily be a 30mpg player on the Knicks... at least with the way we play.

any player we use up big cap space to sign better be an impact player to give up a chance at any flexibility for the 2012 summer of free agency... we have limited space as it is we can't be using it up on guys like Gasol... dude wasn't even in the game for the entire stretch run for the Grizzlies... i want a guy that will provide the defense & rebounding to complement Melo & Stat's offensive games at the C position.

we don't play SSOL.

Timo Chamberlin!

Do a youtube of the Moz and you can see what SSOL center could do. What he did for Amare made his life easier.

marc is a free agent. Gotta look at who is available, not who we can dream about.

Bottom line is Billups eats up our space this summer. ITs about next summer.

Well he is kind slow, his defense doesn't seem to be that great either.

TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

We just need a competent big body to hold their ground in the post and grab rebounds with a block here or there. Gasol is enough. How many centers are better than him out there? He is def top 10 at the position.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Id rather have Deandre Jordan. I think his upside is still a ways away yet able to produce like he did against Boston tonight. When he gets consistent--he's going to be very tough.

i can think of way more than 10 NBA C's i'd rather have than Marc Gasol:

Dwight
Horford
Bogut
Noah
Bynum
Perkins
Okafor
Camby
Jefferson
Chandler
Jordan
Nene
Cousins
Dalembert
Hibbert
Varejao
Kaman
Bargnani

Howard - Agree

Horford is not a C.

Bogut - yes, assuming his injury problems are over.

Noah is not a C.

Bynum is too inury prone.

Perkins - agree.

Okafor is not a C.

Camby is too old.

Jefferson is not a C.

Chandler - yes.

Jorand - yes.

Nen - not a C really, but sure.

Cousins is not a C.

Dalembert is a wash, don't see how he is any better. Too skinny to hold his own int he post.

Varejao is not a C.

Kamanis too inury prone.

Bargnini is not a C again.

So thats 4 guys that are clearly better centers than Gasol.

A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

if u want to include PF's i can come up with a much longer list of guys i'd rather play out of position at C than signing Gasol to a longterm deal... hell give me Reggie Evans off the bench at low dollars over Gasol on a big contract, he'd probably grab you more rebounds & play better defense at that.

Okafor would actually be perfect for this team..he blocks shots, rebounds, boxes out, big body who takes up space..and really doesn't need touches but can still score.

you're kidding me with this right? practically all those guys are the starting C's for their respective teams, & i'd rather have all of them than Gasol on a similar contract... just cuz you don't consider them C's doesn't make it so.

Gasol does not suck by any means

I just believe for OUR team Kevin Love is best fit!

He does two thing we need most from our C

He rebounds which is our biggest need!..... And he helps spread the floor.

Imagine Love with Melo Amare and CP3/DWILL?

He is not set to receive max Money for few years so if we could pry him away now we
could sign him with his Bird rights.

Just think we would be deadly with Love

KNICKS on the way UP!!!

i didn't say he sucked. i said he's not worth the big contract it would take to get him. if he's signing for Turiaf money then hell yes you'd be a fool not to want him, but he's gonna command a lot more.

as for Kevin Love i think he'd be a nice fit but he's not a great defender of the paint... for our needs i think we need a shotblocking intimidator that can pull down the boards as well... we don't need a 3 pt shooting C.

What on earth are the Knicks offering Minnesota to get Love back in a trade?

And then you're ALSO signing another max free agent?

Dude, understanding the salary cap is a good thing.

People seriously wanna break bank to sign Marc Gasol?
