Some context. The Utah Jazz coach of forever is gone. The lead guard is gone. They are in shock and still adjusting on the fly with Tyrone Corbin, who is a head coach for the first time in his career. Jazz had won only 2 of the last ten games and are a less formidable squad than the Cavs right now. "The offense hasn't been an issue for the Jazz the past two months. They've been a sieve on the defensive end, primarily on the perimeter where they're giving up 40% from the arc."

Stat and Melo shot lights out and that was great. Nice to see them looking for each other. On the other hand, Jared Jeffries cannot make a layup and that is not good. Derrick Brown threw down a couple of slams in traffic. The first was a blur. Good.

Everyone played. Anthony Carter is a crowd favorite. Roger Mason Jr can play basketball. Who knew? Everyone wants to love Andy Rautins but he seems to carry himself with too much cool and not enough quickness. Rautins turned it over three consecutive times and is a half step slow with the ball when pressured. He must get quicker or be gone.

Lost in the commotion and celebration. Good news - 32 assists for NY. Bad news. The Knicks were outrebounded last night. Cleveland had 22 offensive boards. We are going to struggle with teams that have rugged frontcourt players - like the Cavs.

(SFX: volcano rumbling)

When asked about the approaching April deadline on his contract, Donnie Walsh responded, “None of your damn business.”

That makes me uncomfortable.

ummm, weren't we missing more key pieces than they were?? Turiaf & billups missing really weakened our bench. If this game had been tough, we would have been missing the element they bring.

I'd phrase it more like is thumping a team in disarray (because of trades and coaching change, etc., etc. ) fools gold and considering these guys are still learning on the fly, I think it evens itself out.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

A good victory for us, but I have to say that Utah seems like a broken team in some ways, especially on the defensive end.

Harris is obviously a major downgrade. I think Favors will end up being a very solid PF for them and I like Hayward, but this is obviously a team in transition.

A win is a win is a win. They roll out that team then it is their fault. You can only beat the team in front of you. Is that enough cliches?

Marv - nearly a spit take classic

Last night was a perfect example of taking what the defense gave us.

fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

If my Grandmother had wheels she would have been a wagon

if my grandmother had been lifted out of her death bed, sat in a wheelchair and rolled onto a court, she would have hit that shot that jeffries missed.

He (mistakenly) Went to Jared

Jeffries is the unsung hero on this team but he cannot carry the team on his shoulders.

Marv - Jared missed that layup because he's got ice-water in his veins.

Jeffries does things that don't show up in the stat column.

Exactly why there is not a stat for blown shots within five feet of the hoop.

The only thing that was troubling last night was Amare and his lack of defense on Jefferson. He is a nice player but 34 points is unacceptable.

But getting the bench comfortable is a tremendous key with this team. Billups can mesh very easily, but getting Carter minutes and Douglas added confidence will be a huge key come playoff time.

It also makes a huge difference that Melo and Amare are working together. This really needs to continue

Melo and Amare were really in the zone.

Amare was in the groove and Carmelo must been feeling it because he makes it look easy.

He's on top of his game and he's really coming into his own as he let's the game come to him.
