I know that I may be taking way too much out of this quote, but it is troubling:

“I couldn’t really see,” Anthony said. “The eye was blurry. I was seeing double almost the whole game. When I was shooting the ball, I was just trying to get it up and get other guys going.”

Quote from the Post- sure it is elsewhere as well.

But- if you are in a game and your eye is poked and you can't see, do you hoist shots hoping that your team mates can go gather up the misses? Or do you tell Coach you can't see, but you'll gut it out and look to set up team mates when you draw a double team?

I hope he turns things around and proves he's worth the money. I'm confident that he can, and hopefully MDA will rope him in and set him up to maximize his talents.

But didn't Al Harrington once get a max, or near max deal?

And how different is Melo, really, from a younger Al Harrington - besides maybe a few PPG?

Hmmm... expect some interesting responses to this one.

how interesting is this one: "bulls**t"

the one thing he is a proven career scorer. his previous game - WHEN HE COULD SEE - wasn't he 10-16?

glad you want to jump on his ass for trying to play through an eye injury. also glad the ref didn’t even bother to call a foul on the play. Naturally it was that total prick whoreford who hit him.

i think everyone needs to relax on melo. the guy is a proven all-star in this league and he is arguably the best scorer in the league. he hasn't been great here - yet, but he will be. give the man some time to get acclimated to his new teammates and a new offense. also im sure the amount of pressure he's facing is incredible which is making him press. melo will be fine and if this is how we are going to judge him then maybe NY fans didn't deserve a player like him all these years...

This is similar to the beginning of the season when guys didn't get the system or their roles, no rhythm, continuity, changing lineups, etc.

The difference is with those guys we went 3-8, here were 4-3.

Melo can definately spread the ball a little and people were calling him out for missing Fields but he has worked on it and he has actually gotten some assists connecting with Fields. All the shots that Melo has taken I think maybe 10% are bad shots but he takes a lot of high percentage shots which I really like. I am warming on Melo and I think he is getting a bum rap on the chucker aspect. The ball stopper attribute I think he is working on and you can see that the ball is moving a little bit more with him.

Was Chuck Taylor a Chucker?

franco12 - What is the difference between a "chucker" and a player you feel confident with the ball in his hands with under two minutes remaining?

The difference is when someone has double vision, they're honest enough with themselves to realize they are impaired.

A chucker chucks and thinks- well, if I miss, I'm still helping the team.

Read the quote? I mean WTF:

“I couldn’t really see,” Anthony said. “The eye was blurry. I was seeing double almost the whole game. When I was shooting the ball, I was just trying to get it up and get other guys going.”

Jordan must be the ultimate chucker, I mean dude had the flu and could barely stand, yet he continued to jack up shots at the rim. The selfish bastard

if he continues to "chuck" his way into Ws, I'm happy. Hell, Kobe Bryant chucked 6-24 on his way to earning a Finals MVP

I don't understand how Melo's FGA/gm are in any way reflective of understanding a system and role.

A chucker continues to chuck when he's off instead of getting teammates involved and/or driving to the hoop.

Chuck It

"hey you woodchucks, stop chucking my wood!"

How many shots does a chucker chuck before he stops chucking?

18, or at least that was MDA's limit!

hmmm let's see 'chuck" Harrington was 0-8 last night

Melo was having issues when it happened went to the foul line and missed the first FT. Then sank the second. Seeing double so figured out which is the right one and just kept shooting I guess. Apparently he had no probs telling which of the doubles were the right teammate sihnce he had 7 dimes.
