It was never a question of his numbers; it was a question if he could produce in a team dynamic.

I'd like to see him put 75% of those numbers up against the Lkaers/Spurs/Heat/Celtics/Bulls...or Knicks and his team wins

Good for AR. Hopefully he can get to the point where he's able to perform like that on a consistent level.

He was the player this team deserved, but not the one it needed right now. So we will trade him. Because he can take it.

Funny thing is that I heard he left NYC on a motorcycle.

Interesting.

Same old Randolph thinking he is a PG trying to bring the ball up and turning the ball over.

Scored off dunks and shots around the rim. Luckily for him he can play PF and C for Minny and is allowed to make mistakes. He wouldn't have succeeded here.

Its the totality of the trade that is so putrid. We gave up SO F much and will be paying for it 4 years. That Denver club is in such good shape--they killed us and they would wipe us out in a 7 games series. Throw in randolph picks pick flips for a guy we couldve had in FA for almost nothing. Melo is a very good player--not a great player. If we remained patient--our team wouldve been so *formidable* it would've been joke--we couldve won 3-4 championships. Now we are going to be under the gun to fill this thing out --id ont know what happens here---root for the best but any way you lookat it--we lost this trade by miles-I dont need years to tell me that.

The one thing I will say is that in 2 years the Knicks will have yet another shot at adding to the team in a big way.

Chauncy will be coming off of his $14M salary and if he still wants to play in a backup role for many year would prob take a major cut in salary.

Williams, CP3, Howard all have opts outs.

Melo is a legit superstar. In four years, you'll have to look the trade up to remember exactly what we gave up to get Melo

Briggs,

What is the missing element about Melo rejecting NJ but Nuggs still had leverage?

There is still something missing and it would appear that Melo was going to sign that extension either with Denver or Nets.

I hear you man, but I don't think Melo goes FA.

BRIGGS Come back to us man! The core we have now is better than what we had and is more likely to succeed in the postseason as well. We can now play halfcourt BB at a high level.

How will we be paying for the trade over the next 4 years? It's more likely that we'll be deep in the playoffs over the next 5 years.

I also don't agree that Denver would beat us in a 7 game series. Melo and Billups make this team very tough to deal with. More so than we were before and that team we had before wasn't on a path to winning 3-4 titles! You've gone over the edge on this one.

We won the trade. We got the best players and the roster is much closer to title contention than we were before. Denver is very young and very deep, but I don't believe their highest potential reaches what our is at our best.

I thought Briggs was being sarcastic at first.
