I feel VERY comfortable moving forward. We have a tough schedule coming up but I think they will really shine now. Melo has not disappointed and I love the ability of Billups to just completely take over in the 4th quarter in big games like he has already. Having a player who can be so clutch in do or die situations is so valuable to a team.

I agree. Still a lot of work tho, getting comfortable with each other. Billups learning where Stat and the rest like to receive the ball, getting a serviceable center, better boxing out, - I can see us going deep in the playoffs. Welcome aboard man

My concerns with this trade is we sent 5 good players/prospects to another team for a player Ive always viewed as 2nd tier. That being said I am waiting to be proven wrong, not right. I do not want to be right. I love that you chose NY, this stage, this team, this city. Its easy to coast when your as talented as you are. Its easy to shoot your way out of slumps and coast until crunch time. PLEASE dont... please show us all that your one of the NBA's true stars, that every game and every minute your on the floor your out to remind everyone that your as good as anyone in this league. Thats what made Mike great.. the will to dominate, EVERY minute he was on the floor.

I want to see you impress your will on every game, to pound your defenders into submission, to turn good defense from your foes into deflating points scored by you. Make your teammates better by showing them your effort on defense, on the boards and setting up your teammates.

Melo.. welcome to NYC dude. This city has been waiting for a player of your calibre to be here since Big Pat was sent packing. Yeah adding Amare was a huge move but not as big as adding you. This city is starving fot basketball in April, May, and June and your addition gives us all hope. Its simple here in NYC - play your heart out. That doesnt mean just scoring a ton of points (something you excel at) it also means busting your ass every possession defensively and hustling. The fans of this team deserve that. We are a loyal fanbase and have went through hell to get guys like you and Amare here. We all know the ability you have. Give us your all and you will FOREVER be loved in this city. The Knicks got the NBA equivalent of a secret weapon in Melo and one of the best bball minds in the game running the point in Billups who still has plenty left in the tank from the looks of it. You have to pay through the nose to get that combination in one deal. There are no fair deals for this much talent and experience.

I think this team has a chance to sneak into the Finals, honestly.

Said this in the game thread, but this team reminds me so much of the 1999 squad - a bunch of super talented guys with a chip on their shoulder. i dunno, i see this team being able to match up with boston, miami, chicago and orlando over the course of a long series.
