When your man is bigger and longer than you, hold your position. Do not jump to the ball, box out and let the ball come to you. Maybe Herb Williams is not the guy to teach this. The knicks players aside from being undersized do not seem to have rebounding fundamentals.

The unfortunate thing about this comment is... is Melo really that different and or a better player than Marbury? Melo seems a bit braindead to me.

No, we've returned to the Melobury approach. I know it's hard to remember this now but Marbury was an all-star and olympian and there was actually much more support for him and the trade that brought him here than for Melo and the trade bringing him here. In the first year (when players with baggage are on their best behavior), the team was .532 with Marbury and I'd be surprised if we have that success with Melo this year.

Scoring shouldn't be a problem. We need a defensive/rebounding roleplayer at C. I don't think Shelden Williams will give us much, but hey, when you're getting outrebounded by 20, and making JJ Hickson look like Kevin Love, maybe it wouldn't hurt to give him a try?

Bingo..Right now we have to deal with the cards we were dealt..The trade deadline has come & gone, the draft & FA isn't until the summer..You start addressing the rebounding problem with Shelden Williams and see what he can offer..Then go from there. Ain't rocket science.

Shelden averages 4 rebounds for his career. You get outrebounded by 16.

You do the math.
