Two games into the new error and I'm bored and a little sad.

I was enjoying the Knicks for the first time since the Ewing error.

It was interesting to project what Gallo, Chandler, Moz would become. Felton was a bull-dog. AR was a wild-card - maybe someday he would actually play and live up to his potential.

I liked Clyde because he was cool, Starks because he was a lunatic, Melo nothing. If anything he reminds me Marbury.

Not feeling it.

We have been bad for so long that some fans are bored with the fact that we are actually good. None of those players were ever winning us a championship. I'm sure you will just be done as a Knick fan when we get Chris Paul right? We will be real boring when we are a 60-win team.

You saw last night evidence of how good Gallo and chandler were on another team. They are no the stars so to speak--had little practice time--adn shouldve propelled their team to 3-0 that was a freak loss--Denver fans have to be laughing--Knick fans will soon see a mistake that cant be rectified with our cap.

You've taken those words straight from my heart. I watched the game yesterday and felt bored as hell, I hate Carmelo's body language (Fishmike's Diva is the best word to describe it).

I hate is non-commitment to D, he just doesn't have an idea to defend anything.

THEN, I watched Denver, and it got fun again to see chandler and Gallo, to hear the commentators that are starting to understand what they really won in that trade, to see Georges Karl smile watching Gallo's weird skillset.

I miss those guys,I hate Dolan, I hate Melo, I can't watch the Knicks anymore.

20 years, they got me.

You don't need to be 'hot' to have hi bball IQ and to be able to make good passes and play the passing lane. That's what we missed from those guys. Sure they could have bad shooting nights (except they shot a better percentage or same than Carmelo, but whatever) but at least they knew how to play ball.

This blows.

Rose is not the answer.

So maybe is a pretty good coach and developed these guys good. The hope has to be the "pringle magic" on this group will happen over time.

I'm with you guys but it's done and it was done for a reason. Two steps back to take 10 forward.

Yes, watching Gallo last night was fun. Is it possible in 2 games Karl has figured out how to use him best and make him a primary option? Look what happens when that is done.

I have to agree though, the team is boring right now and it was more fun watching and hoping that "our" guys would someday turn into Champs. They might still but not in NY.

They're good? Haven't proven that yet.

We're getting Chris Paul? Haven't proven that yet.

We're a 60 going to be a 60 win team? Haven't proven that yet.

I think we're capped out and going to see early playoff exits over the next few years. But this post wasn't about being a GM. This post was about my feelings about rooting for this team.

I like watching young teams grow. I like seeing if guys who have potential are going to reach it. I liked the guys we had. I'm just not as excited about what we have now. It's not a right or wrong thing. It's a personable preference.

Hey I'm a Yankee fan - but if it wasn't for guys like Jeter, Mariano, Posada, Hughes, Cano - I don't think I'd be that interested in watching all their hired guns. Sometime you need to change personal to grow. But trading four core young players that I've had fun watching has dampened my enthusiasm.

I like your use of "error" instead of "era." Clever.

I wasn't excited about the win vs Milwaukee or that upset about the loss last night. Mostly indifferent, to be honest

We had a lot of hope and feelings invested in the guys we gave up. There was also the mystery factor- since we did not yet know how good Gallo, Mosguv, Wilson, and even Felton, to an extent, could be.

Billups will never improve as a player at this point- with him you are getting a "last hurrah" from a great PG who I would have wanted 5 years ago, not now. He would have been a great backup for Felton, and I would have loved getting him alone from the Nuggets, but not at the cost we paid for him and Melo.

As for Mello, what you see is what you get. He has played exactly as I expected he would, and I don't expect to see anything different from him. He is a volume scorer, one of the most offensively talented in the league, but that is all he is going to give you and we already had a similar player in Amare. And the kicker is that we do not get a chance to see Melo develop. We get a pre-established star (not a superstar- hope some folks realize/accept this) who I look on as a mercenary, not one of my guys.

Hope things change, but...

Yep. I kind of agree. I'm not particularly excited watching this team on the court and it does not fit D'Antoni's system right now. Maybe it will improve. I guess we're going to have to see. By rights, this team *should* be better, I just don't know if they actually are. Toney Douglas also completely perplexes me. How does a guy get 23 one night, then 2 the next?
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Give them time to work it out. 2 games and 1 practice with a completely new roster makeup.

When the Garden is rocking in the playoffs I think you will see things differently.

If we had kept Gallo or Mosgov I would feel differently... those were the two guys I thought were the key to making this work.

Its going to take time but Amare/Melo arent as talented and arent playmakers like Lebron/Wade

Oh well... I'm just hanging back waiting for this team to get me into it

And what did our team prove before Melo? You watch people grow, I will watch a team that makes it deep into the playoffs most seasons. Give this team time before you judge them.

Dude Lebron and Wade are brick masons which is why they lose to Boston because they don't excel in half court sets.

We shouldn't be trying to out run teams. We should be slowing the pace down and punishing teams in the half court game.

losing gallo hurts. a lot.

he looked damn damn damn good in portland last night.

of course, in the overtime felton still froze him out and lost the game for the knuggets. que sera.

i like mozgov okay, but i'm not losing sleep over him not being here. i don't think he's particularly special as a player, honestly. i could be wrong - he had some big big games. maybe he was coming on.

I said this before the trade.. the knicks will no longer be a running team. we are now as small halfcourt team that doesn't rebound and our offense is a two man iso offense.. BORING!!

That's a scary proposition I think none of us wants. The hope is we do some of this:

http://nbaplaybook.com/2011/01/24/nuggets-play-to-carmelo-anthonys-strengths-against-pacers/

I don't know about the relationship between D' and Karl but I do think there is a whole lot of mutual respect and, they steal each other's concepts. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they pick each other's brains now about how to maximize their players strengths.

This team is boring.
