This is not even close!!

Billups is a proven winner and floor general.

Felton is at best a semi-decent starter

How? The question is who's better now, not who will become better.

If you took a poll of who would take Billups or Felton for the next two years and only the next two years among NBA GMs... I think Billups would win by a landslide.

Nothing against Raymond, he's a bulldog and tough competitor. Billups is just the better point guard. There is no shame for Raymond not being as good as Billups.

Agree with Crazydumps, given our situation, the two year window and the two best PGs in the league being FAs in 2012 this is a no-brainer. And I said this on the deadline day thread, Donnie made this deal because Billups was part of it. We gave up 3 starters and 7- footer with upside and picks for TWO stars. It's that simple.
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

No. Not early.

Billups has been better throughout his career, and will be better for the next 3 years.

Billups is better now and I believe he can sustain his level of play for a good while longer. He doesn't rely on athletic ability. He plays smart. He uses a high BB IQ to get more out of his aging body than most players would at this age. Funny how the Nuggets got to the WCF's when he came on board.

I gotta admit, I got a bit too emotionally tied to Felton. His heart as a Knick blinded me to the simple fact that he wasn't much of a playmaker as a point, and called his own number too often.

One game's usually not enough to say who is a better PG, but it only took one game for me to realize that Billups was in fact a better floor general out there.

This topic would have been more interesting before the trade. Now the homer factor is in full effect, even though the Billups homers happen to be correct.

Maybe so but he did notch 6 assists yesterday off the bench.

Felton is a good player. Billups is an All Star and has world experience and leadership skills that are at the highest levels. He started teaching immediately and I don't think i've ever seen that before in my life. Guy doesn't know the team or plays and come in and corrects mistakes. This is an open and shut case.

I take Billups without giving it any thought. Now, in 3 or 4 years maybe that changes. But as another has said, Raymond just called his own number too often. His level of ****iness was too far above his level of play, especially the last 6 weeks or so that he was here.

Watching Billups play for one game his BBIQ just stood out. Instead of dumping the ball to Stat (even if Melo wasn't here) Billups looks for what is best, he is calculating. You can be sure (and it aint just cause Melo is here) that Billups is going to get the ball to Stat much closer inside. We all hated that about Raymond. In fairness he didn't have Melo but he just never struck me as high IQ out there. When he was hitting his shots we were fine with it, but when he started missing, he tried to shoot through a "2 month slump". Sorry if he was hurt, but if that is the case then get your teamates involved.

I know Everyone Hates Raymond, but if you let him play with Melo too, the PnR and 3P% wouldn't be as good, but the team would play at mach 3 and Ray would be able to drive and kick to the high and low posts literally all game, and he's improving

Amare is a better PnR guy then Melo yet Felton was exposed

I don't hate Felton but he is a back up compared to Billups by far!!

Felton was playing 20 percent more minutes at an insanely fast pace. I think this is a wash and Felton has upside. I am one of the loudest supporters of the trade on the board. I think Billups will hit some big shots in the post season. But how much longer does he got? Does our need for a back up point bite us in the ass? I'm not saying a minute of Felton is better than a minute of Billups--what I'm saying is Felton did mask some of this teams flaws, was a borderline all star, and I hate seeing everyone bash a big part of the best team of the passed decade on the way out.

Billups has a 14 million dollar contract that comes off books next year.

NBA owns Hornets....... CP3 makes 12 mil next year and will be this years Melo till he gets here.

Billups wants to retire in Denver and Denver wants him to as well.

After Big deal we are on good terms with Denver and it's front office....

After seeing how weak this years draft is You can see NO settling on Felton for one year with picks in latter
years..... Maybe by then other pieces emerge

All I'm saying is Billups helps our team more then Felton by far.

Now and in Future.

A decade older Billups is a way better PG than Felton. Actually quite sad when you think about it.

Ah well. Felton is Denvers problem now.
