FisolaNYDN: Jared Jeffries will likely be available by tomorrow and set to rejoin Knicks. But someone must be released first.

I don't think this is anywhere else. Its hard to keep track these days. Anyway, happy to welcome Fish Lips back to the team.

Knicks are putting some pieces together. Whether you hate him or love him this is a better rotation player than Balkman or even Corey Brewer. He knows the system and MDA knows how to use him.

Billups/Fields/Melo/Stat/JJ
with a bench of Turiaf, TD, Shawne Williams, Bill Walker.

Some sleeper potential with Corey Brewer. I like! Lets catch the Hawks for the 5th seed and take out the Magic!

I'd like to take out Chicago but they just beat Miami. Maybe we shouldn't bite off more than we can chew.

Grabbing the 5 seed and beating Orlando sounds nice.

Very cool. Jeffries was always good for us, it's his contract that was the problem.

He balled hard and was very good at what he does, which is everything but score.

WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.

Great pickup. Solid starter until we get a true starting center. Then he can still be a solid reserve next season.

Barron hasn't been in the NBA this year for a reason.

That being said, can we not add him TOO? Size doesn't hurt. Do we really need Azabuike or Mason at this point? Can't we just buy one of them out to create the space?

Yeah you wanna face Chicago in the 2nd round at the earliest. They aren't as scary as the Heat and Boston tho. The big thing with them is taming Rose. Teams need to get the ball out of his hands and really pay him special attention. Make him work on D too, cuz he's pretty much the only guy on their team that can create his own shot and get others involved. Gotta go with the old "Jordan Rules" on him.

He had his best year by far last year with the Knicks. He was actually getting a full block and steal per game while shooting .330 from 3-pt range. If he can come in and put up 5pt 4rbds 1blk 1stl while shooting .330 from 3 pt as a starting center, this would be a fantastic pickup.

I also remember him anchoring the zone weill, which was the only defensive shcheme that Dantoni ever had any sucess with here.

A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

That was kinda funny. But really tho he did have a nice impact on the D and that's what we need. I don't know what the deal is with Barron, but i'd like to add him too. A good longterm solution will have to wait. So these guys would do for now.

He played in Phoenix this year...

Jeffries can play D, at least he did in NY. The transition shouldn't be that hard for him.

It was his movement on help D that made him so useful. Usually big guys have horrible lateral movement, but he's able to cover a lot of ground and get back. He's not a shot blocker, but he shuts down lanes and clogs the middle for charges. He gives us another 6 fouls too.

That "Coming Home" spoof is hilarious!

I know one Knicks fan who will not like this pickup:

He gives great effort on the D, but he doesn't solve the rebounding issue nor does he give us a defensive presence in the paint which we desperately lack.
