start figuring out who the gem is we can get around pick 20 in this upcoming draft.

Nolan Smith seems like a guy who could come in and play some PG right away. Great P&R player. Not an elite athlete but the consumate high IQ player who could look great setting up Melo/Stat

I dont think Fredette will be there.

Your UConn guy is crazy fast but too shimpy.

The Kansas kid is solid team guy who would prob be available early in the 2nd round. Really good defensive player.

All and all not that excited about this draft

Markieff Morris is the perfect big man for our rotation.

i think fredette is the kinda guy we NEED to get. the same way rondo developed into that 4th star for the celtics, i think fredette can develop into that for us. i'm not sure where i'd peg him yet to be drafted - maybe around 10? i think we'd need to acquire another pick in the late teens and package it with the one we already have.

i'm in your boat though fish - right now i'm not that excited about this class. there's going to be a few studs but they are all still very raw. i think kyrie irving outta duke is probably the best player that could be in this draft.

Who cares-well trade it for a 36 year old guy in June--they cant risk a draft pick--it will be just about their final asset in the Billups era. If no MLE how do they improve--the only way is to trade the pick for a vet.

Stop it. I am starting to feel better today and now I am feeling depressed again. Donnie can do it again. He can fill up our roster with our own yoots again. Right?

I see your still deflated.. I hear ya. This was a fun group of young guys to follow and they were better than their record, obviously bothered by the trade stuff, but whats done is done and the most important guy is still here in Walsh.

Look at the guys he's made sacrifices to get. Amare, a guy you have labeled MVP caliber and Melo. 26 year old elite scoring who wants to be here, has only won in the league and Diva act aside is a hell of a ball player. These are two of the elite top 15 players in this league. There is no MArbury or Curry in these guys.

take your time... we all heal at different paces, but we will be here when your ready. <<<<hugs>>>>

with guys like Amare and Melo I think fredette is the wrong type of dude and rondo is more the mold I would prefer in a PG.

I don't know much about college ball (or fredette for that matter) but one guy seems all offense (shooting) and the other guy is more defense and facilitating.

To compliment Amare and Melo, Knicks need both a passer and ball hawk and someone who can get over picks/stay with their man. Shooting the rock from distance would help too.

It may be premature and completely laughable, but if Rautins could learn defense, he is the mold that I think fit our 2 stars.

why? People laughed when Walsh drafted Douglas, signed Mosgov, drafted Fields, drafted Gallo over Lopez and now they are crying cause those guys are gone. Hill pick aside Walsh has been a damn shrewd evaluator of talent here. He saw something in Rautins, hopefully what he saw comes to fruition

As much as I liked Gallo, he should have drafted Lopez. Gallo is more skilled and versatile. I think Lopez is probably a little better, although his rebounding is obviously a concern.

But there are so few quality centers in the league, and he is a legit center, with a very good offensive game. He is the more difficult player to acquire, at the more precious position, so I think he is who we should have gotten. must my 2 cents on that.

well, laughable just cause we have barely seen him play yet, also laughable to think of the odds of getting 2 starters that happen to be back-to-back 2nd round picks.

Being from Western NY I've seen enough of Rautins to like him. Needs to mature his handle and defense and toughness, but enough talent and know-how is there. I like the dude.

re Rautins: I might add, and I have posted this before, IMHO Billups is the perfect teaching guy for both TD and Rautins, much better than Felton at this point in his career.

I hope that can pay dividends.

Douglas is the poor man's Billups. I agree... first TD needs to get healthy because he's nervous about contact with that shoulder. Then learn from bigshot

Maybe we will have the opportunity to trade the pick for a young big man like Jason Thompson or Lopez from phx.

The only players that Donnie will be interested in are players with 1 year left in their contract after this year to be ready for 2012. Saying that, both players you mentioned qualify. Not sure how you can get them now. Unless they are interested in TD. I am not giving Fields for any of them.
