With Melo coming to town I'm excited. I understand why some felt we gave up too much. It's not often a Knicks draft pick works out. I'll miss Gallo but the Knicks are a better team than they were a day ago and they can now start to fill in the gaps. Do we still need a big? Yes. Do we still have other holes? Yes. Rome wasn't built in a day and it will be interesting to see who else DW and company will be able to add to the mix.

Who knows where the pieces are going to come from? Remeber where the Knicks picked up Starks and Mason from? The future is looking bright people and I'm excited. Whose with me?

Melo is our boy just like STAT is.

GO Knicks.... Hey, maybe MDA and Donnie knew something we don't and douglas and Fields were the budding untouchable stars.... Always hope

Go knicks. We are a better team now and we can attract more high quality free agents with our two studs in melo and amare. This is a real start. Howard, cp3, or dwill in the future makes this team the real deal. We gave up a lot. For whatever reason i don't care or know, but this team is on the right track.

Yeah, I'm officially excited too. I got a little frustrated with how the negotiations went, both in Denver seemingly asking for more & more every 5 mins AND in Melo's reluctance to exert his will on this trade a heck of a lot more than he did, but in the end, we got the best player in the deal BY FAR..The first thing you hear about when it comes to this deal is that Melo got traded to the Knicks -- all the other parts to this trade are secondary, some even afterthoughts..There's a reason it's being looked at like that...Someone said it the other day (I think it may have been D'Antoni and/or Walsh) -- it's a lot harder to add a 26-year-old star player in his prime than it is to build a bench and supporting cast..I think that's true...Now that we have Amar'e AND Melo, there's no need for lottery level draft picks any more..We already have two stars..We're not a finished product but we're no longer a lottery team either..As in this summer -- we'll be fine picking anywhere from 17-20..We're gonna get a rotation player there for sure. And then in these other years where we don't have 1st round picks, we could easily purchase a lower pick each year to help rebuild the team (we now have enough talent where the picks we'll be surrendering won't be top level picks anyway, which'll make it a little easier to swallow)..In the meantime, we're gonna need to be mindful of the cap but I don't think it's impossible for us to rebuild the rest of the roster..There's gonna be several different ways we're gonna be able to do that..I think the best option available to us right now is to utilize the D-League...I'd cut some of the players on the roster that don't fit & call up several of the top DL performers immediately on 10-day contracts --- let's throw some talent on the wall right now and see what sticks..There's a ton of great talent in the D-League..A lot of very capable players just waiting by the phone for a callup. D-League callups and the draft, maybe a smart FA signing or trade here & there provide we manage the cap properly..That's how you rebuild the underbelly..It can be done. 2 MAJOR pieces are already in place..Not many teams can say that. I'm going glass half full here all the way.

I can't decide if the glass of Kool Aid sitting in front of me is half full or half empty and I have yet to take a sip.

I guess after the "Drama" I am guarding my emotions for now and being cautious. I still feel a bit violated.

Maybe I can trust again?

The rumors about Isiah has really opened some old wounds for me.

I'm with you - I do think we gave up way too much and it was tough to see Gallo, Chandler, Moz, and Felton watching the Nuggets - however I am happy we have Melo.

Very excited that Melo is here. Now the KNicks have a chance to reach elite status and challenge for a Championship eventually.

Pumped. How great is it going to be watching Brooklyn native and Amare beat the Heat? The rest of the East, no matter what they say, just went "Well ****."

I can't believe Walsh signed Felton to use as Melo bait. I know the discussions were around Felton being a stop gap until CP3 or Deron were available, but we seemed to have a solid backcourt with the idea to putting the stars in the frontcourt.

Giving them Mosgov made no sense whatsoever. That move is strictly clean evidence of IT's thumbprints all over this. Getting Balkman back is further proof.

I like Felton but realize that we have Chauncey "Mr. Big Shot" Billups now running the show. He's getting up there age wise but they guy is a straight baller. He's still going strong, going to distribute the ball, take smart shots, knock down 3's and get to the FT often.

As far as Timo, potential doesn't always translate into success. Only time will tell.

I'm excited already, but that won't compare to how charged I'll be when the new Knicks hit the court tonight.

I'll be putting my 6-pack on ice early. The press conference comes on @ 5PM, so this will be an all evening event.

Let's get going, KNICKS!

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!
I'm excited whose with me????
