The Carmelo Anthony trade saga is nearly over.

Indications are that a trade is imminent with the New York Knicks, with only minor details to be worked out before an agreement is reached, a league source said.

Anthony was not at the Nuggets' practice as they resumed workouts following the All-Star break.

The New York Times quoted a source close to Anthony's agent, Leon Rose, as saying: "We're about to dot the i's and cross the t's."

guys, the only way to feel good about this trade is going to be to pretend it happened last summer.

Stat and Melo is a great foundation. Time to fill out the roster over the next year or so.

Can't worry about spilled milk. Just deal with the reality of the day. We still have a lot of work to be done with the team and we don't know how it's going to get done, but the crazy part of the situation appears to be over. Once we get the final verdict, we can debate the strength of the new roster.

I hope we didn't end up losing all 3 starters and our 6th man.

Even if we do bend over on this...I'm just relieved it's almost over.

I am going to miss the guys that gave us a great effort and brought some respectability to a franchise that had lost it's way. However, we need to move forward and I am sure Melo and Stat will give us More to cheer for in the second half.

A trade to send Carmelo Anthony to the Knicks appears imminent, according to a source.

Only minor agreements between the Nuggets and Knicks remain for them to agree upon a trade.

Anthony was not at Denver's practice on Monday.

As part of a trade, Anthony will receive a $65 million contract extension for three seasons.

Alan Hahn of Newsday reports that the trade is expected to be finalized on Tuesday.
