Just sit back and think about it for one minute

This team will be WORSE we will have two Amares looking to shoot the 12 footer--no passing and the floor wont spread as easily. This is going to backfire and all of these people saying top 10 player in the game--hope yall go buy 3-4 seasons worth of season tickets that Dolan will now double--and you will be forced to watch .500 ball for 4 more years.

I wouldve stayed true to a deal that was opportunistci to NY or said play in NJ or come to us in FA--nothing else. Chandler randolph cury and ill take balkman back or no deal.

Wait forgot to talk about ball movement--that will be gone. two 25 shot chuckers on the same team who loathe passing. LOL

Wrong we are a young team on the rise. I think we should be better than +2. the winner here is also Chauncey Billups. I highly doubt he was going to have his last year option extended--and how can the Knicks not option it?? and losing ray is going to hurt as well bad bad bad bad trade off. terrible

We have a YOUNG team, it will improve, even if we don't do anything. If Melo wants his money, it's his choice. Our franchise should'nt care. We offer him an opportunity to sign a max contract this summer, he takes it or leave it, his choice. Period.

By the time the young players on the team reach their peak, Amare will be old.

We will improve to 5 games over .500 or even 10 games but we are not winning a championship with what we have. I like my chances with Amare + Melo than with Gallo + Chandler.

By the time we are good again--Amare will be long gone from this league. Book it

Nothing we do will give us playoff quality defense in time so you got to double down on the offense and try to win by a higher margin. Melo should be enough to do that and Billups is smart enough and experienced enough to manage it in the most efficient way. Fields has been starting to not just take it to the rim, but also draw defenders and make smart plays. I'm guessing Melo and Stat being aggressive is going to be contagious.

I'm not saying this team would be good enough to beat the Heat but I think they would give them a scare.

We are not winning a title this year--are u kidding me? we dont even have a starting C. look at their stats we will have two very similar players no ball movement--porous defense.

+1

Too many people in here don't seem to realize that however. Getting STAT last summer brought a bunch of bandwagoners and noobs just looking for the headlines... if that's what this team is all bout, I'm out of here ! I don't mind being patient, it looks like a clueless part of our fanbase like our owners can't...

It's funny, Dolan doesn't know **** about basketball even after all those years owning the team and going to the games...

And one last thing about "business decisions"... nothing sells more than a winning team. So let DW leads us to the promise land !

Thats very open ended. Being good is subjective. Some people would say making the playoffs is good while others would say making conference championships is good.

Okay.

This team will be WORSE we will have two Amares looking to shoot the 12 footer--no passing and the floor wont spread as easily.

Interesting conclusions.

Felton is shooting south of .330 from 3 pt range.

Billups north of .440.

Chandler and Gallinari both average 1.7 assists a game. Anthony 2.8.

And he's only shooting about .020 point less behind the arc than either of these two players.

And he rebounds better.

Now I understand stats can be deceiving sometimes, but care to explain how your conclusions fly completely against any and all statistic evidence?

Wait forgot to talk about ball movement--that will be gone. two 25 shot chuckers on the same team who loathe passing. LOL

But again, Gallo doesn't pass at any significantly higher rate than Anthony. This is a statistical fact. So what's your point exactly?

What you want to Keep Chandler , Gallo, and Felton? I would keep them to. but had Gallo and Chandler stepped up during the games we would'nt be having this conversation.

Briggs, the last thing I said in that quote is that we aren't good enough to beat the Heat. I'm also assuming Moz is still a Knick. We would have 2 top five scorers in the lineup, a PG who might be a defensive liability but not to the point that it changes the defensive makeup of this team. It sucked to begin with. But he is a championship quality PG, he knows how to get everyone their touches in the flow of an offense. His numbers aren't great but he doesn't have two top 5 players on his team to pass to right now.

The Knicks would also be harder to game plan against because they haven't been together very long. I'm only talking about this season of course. I'm cautiously optimistic if the deal went down without Moz.

Were going to have two ball dominant players who really play a similar game(that is why there stats are so close) from the mid range in--

Billups is 34 and felton 26 felton can run Billups is getting slow.
Net
gallo cahndler felton 51 points 14.5 rebounds 12.5 assits--average age of players 23.5

Billups Carmelo 41.7 10.1 8.1 avag age 30

just to get an even net you will need a player who avg 10 -4 -4 and is roughly 20 years old--just to break even.

With MDA here you don't need to be concerned with defense. This trade makes the Knicks better. Briggs once the Knicks start rolling again you gonna throw out wow was I wrong thread that is guaranteed.

Same was said of Miami.

Now I will totally grant you that Melo/Stat as a tandem are NOT as good as Wade/James, but they figured out how to co-exist.

People were convinced they couldn't. At 9-8, people were giddy about it.

Look what happened.

Billups is 34 and felton 26 felton can run Billups is getting slow.

Has the reason why Felton was given a 2 year deal completely escaped you?

Raw accumulated stats?

Really?

Briggs, I always value your insight and opinions on this forum. The addition of Melo in the summer, with the assets the team would have had, would have lead us to add the addition and promised a brighter future. Even if this summer if Melo didn't add join us through FA, we could end up with 2 2nd tier stars and better depth. I don't believe this trade was made better for the Knick's future but more for MSG's corporation to make $$$. While this trade, makes us better contenders this year, if the team stays the same, it hurts us with the flexibility for our future. If Denver really never valued Wilson Chandler, I really wanted to know if DW could have got away with AZ+ more picks?
What a terrible defense team we will have
