I was talking to some friends about NBA rivalries, and we were arguing about what is the best Knicks rivalry. Since I grew up a Knicks fan in the late 90s, the Heat rivalry felt like the biggest one to me, but I'd like to have your opinion on the subject.
Boston Celtics
Chicago Bulls
Miami Heat
Indiana Pacers

For my tastes it was the Heat. The Celtics weren't good when we were good. The Bulls always beat us so I can't call that a rivalry. I hated the Davis brothers and Reggie but liked the rest of the Pacers team. I hated everyone on the Heat and to this day think the PJ Brown fight cost us a title.

I voted Bulls, since I have been an avid Knicks fan since 1970. But I could easily see the Miami Heat rivalry during the Ewing/Zo years as the tops. I already voted Bulls, but Bip makes a good point about us never actually beating the Bulls (with MJ).

And I still loathe PJ Brown to this day. But I also think Timmy was freaking awesome. Great player.

Since the Knicks have sucked for so long, they currently don't really have any big rivalry. They've not been competitive to have a legitimate rivalry.

It used to be Miami and Indiana.

+1... the emotions were a lot more heated whenever we played the Heat, they were like a mirror image of our own team... plus there was the Riley factor... it was the best rivalry by far.

growing up, it was definitely the bulls. for the late 90s, the heat definitely won. i like that there's a little spice in our games against both the heat and celtics now... but i don't think anything qualifies right now.

favorite rivalry all-time? i gotta say the bulls.

There is an old saying "you judge a man by the quality of his enemies" I'd pick the Bulls because they were the Knicks biggest enemy back in the day and the best.

definitely agree with everything you said. the heat rivalry at it's height was as good as yankees/red sox if not better. god damn those were some great series.

We were so similar too. I loved to see CWard to battle with Tim Hardaway and get the best of him(in a winning way) at times even though Timmy was obviously the better player. I still remember the game when Charlie went off on them back in 2000 and the Garden crowd was chanting his name. The good old days

Charlie Wards greatest moment didn't come against the Heat. It was not in that game (And I remember it clearly) Charlie Wards greatest play came against the 8 million foot Rik Smits. The man thinks he's going to knock down a sexy 3 pointer and instead gets his shot swatted by Patrick Ewing? Noper doper. Marcus Camby? Not this time. Kurt Thomas??????? No sir. The almighty Charlie Ward swats it in the 3rd row!

Why that's not on Youtube is beyond me. Shame on Knick fans.
