It's asinine to build an MDA team without a quality pass-first, team-minded point guard. We have Felton, which was a hopeful acquisition at best, and it's clearer every day that it has not worked out.

MDA's teams require a high level of game IQ at all positions and responsible players that know how to work together as a unit, as one. It's beautiful when it's working, but it can get really ugly if a piece is not cooperative.

Felton goes Marbury too often, he's not looking for the team, he looks for himself way too much at the expense of the system.

Our weakest link is at our most important position.

Forget Melo, we have guys that can drop the buckets.

Please, PLEASE get us a level-headed, selfless point to lead this team. I'm certain MDA and Walsh know this already and are working to fix the situation, either at the deadline or at the end of the season. Felton is a good stopgap but he's from here to the moon away from being the guy we really need.

WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.

Nesh was exceptional at what he does, someone half as good as Nesh but with a similar mindset would be better than Felton.

Maybe the solution instead should be to stop building an MDA system

this bulldinky is beginning to remind me of Jamal Crawford. 2009-10 Sixth Man of the Year Jamal Crawford. The JC that provided some memorable, memorable games for the Knicks. The JC that was asked to do waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much. The JC that got blamed by the fans for the team's structural flaw(s).

Honestly, is it really Felton's fault that he *HAS* to be the team's second option? Who the hell does Felton have to set the table for? People keep skewering him--who the hell has stepped up to get a better shot than Felton in SSOL????? This is getting effing ridiculous.

Felton can be our pg he just needs help in the backcourt. As much we talk about needing more size Felton is the only above average guard on our team. (love Landry but he's a forward really). We are in desperate need of some traditional guards that penetrate and can create offence for others. A starting 2 guard and a backup 1 would make Felton look a whole lot better.

I think #2 scoring option at any position would do wonders for Felton. Honestly being the 2nd option as a PG has to be hard-especially in a complicated offense. PG's who are the #1 tend to do well because they basically have carte blanc with the ball to do whatever they want.

As a #2 your head has to be messed up a bit on when to get others involved or when to do it yourself.

Put Melo on this team Felton prolly drops to 16 a game but his consistency, assists, and running the offense prolly become more consistent.

I agree with the person who said Felton needs to not be the 2nd option. I like Felton and his cap hit.

Based on reports from a source close to the Knicks (on 1050 Wednesday), we're still set to pursue either Williams or Paul in 2012.

It's a two-year deal for Felton, dude is a stop-gap.

In Donnie we trust.

Felton will be better when someone like Melo comes here. It will take a lot of pressure off of him. Sometimes Felton may frustrate, but there are few PGs i would rather have on this team.

I disagree, he's not mature enough to take advantage of having Melo and Amar'e. He will still pop out of the flow of the offense, he will still look for his way too much.

The guy is playing for a payday, like Al Harrington was, so his main motivation is not the Knicks, but himself. The Knicks are second to him. And that's a huge problem for the team.

i totally disagree with you. he's not one of the top pg's in the league but he’s worked his way into the 2nd tier. when wilson was playing as an established aggressive consistent #2 threat rayray looked like a whole different player. the downshift in wilson's game has put a whole new level of pressure on amear's and rayray's games.

OBM, you get the Fever? Changing players on the fly does not always solve the problem.

Getting an upgrade from here is not easy.

felton needs a solid back up. TJ ford could shake free via buy out.

So basically after every loss we have to hear we need to change the team now and after every win we hear how great our players are. Knicks are what they are.......a crappy team last year that has risen to a lower tier playoff team this year. There will be ups and downs. Stay the course Donnie...this clown would rather have a reactionary Isiah back at the helm tinkering to add mismatched parts for shock value.

be happy Zeke isn't still in charge. We'd either have Felton at $10M per for the next 5 seasons or Joe Johnsons at $25M per for the next 9.
Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

"someone half as good as Nesh but with a similar mindset would be better than Felton."

Say What?

orangeblob - are you proposing waiting until 2012 for Russell Westbrook?

If not him, then please cite who you had in mind.

This ain't fantasy.

Felton at $5M per year is a bargain, with a legit nr.2 option I really see him flourishing. He has a great motor too.

Gallinari needs to be the 2nd option right now. When he handles the ball good things happen most of the time.
