Here's my list:
Lebron
Kobe
Dwight Howard

Wade
Amare
Kevin Durant
Melo
Deron Williams
Chris Paul
Dirk

And aside from a handful of other players there are few other 'franchise' type talents in the next 10 players on the list

Dirk has been hurt but I agree, thats the onlyreason I didn't include him. I would have put him in there and taken out Derrick Rose.

In fact I've fixed it. Ur right.

Derrick Rose is threatening Chris Paul pretty hard.

Deron Williams is surely a top 10 player though.

Here's my list of TODAY's best. Had a hard time keeping Paul, Kobe, and Pierce off. If I had to take more bigs I'd find room for kevin Love, Al Horford, and Joakim Noah too. In no particular order:

Russell Westbrook
Derrick Rose
Derron Williams
Dwyane Wade
Manu Ginoboli
LeBron James
Kevin Durant
Amar'e Stoudemire
Dirk Nowitzki
Dwight Howard

(edit: I forgot to rep my boy--WHOOPS)

No way in Hell Manu Ginobili, Kevin Love, and Westbrook are better than Kobe.

He still has it.

I don't think Kobe stinks by any stretch of the imagination but he has lost a step for certain. I think his reputation is clouding your judgement here

This is like not including a 32 year old Jordan in a top 10 list lol.

If I had to build a team I'd take Kobe just because of his last shot ability. But if yu've watched any games this year you'd see the Lkaers are at their best this year when they pound it with their big men, not when Kobe is running the show. Similarly, the Spurs are at their best when Manu controls the flow.

And you do realize Kobe has 8 more games to go until he has played as many as Jordan had in his entire career? There's some tread on those tires. But I'm sure MJ at 32 would've shot 6-24 in a Game 7 lol

i think u pretty much covered it there Killa... i agree with your groupings too... i think Lebron, Kobe & Dwight are in a class of their own... the rest of your list are pretty much comparable players, i think u could order it any way you want & get no arguments from most people that follow the NBA.

Oh btw, whoever puts Blake Griffin in their list, should get a 10 day ban or be forced to post their ID and prove they are over 13.

Supreme Commander, you deserve at a minimum a 20 minute timeout for leaving off Kobe. 10 minutes for leaving off Paul. But Pierce is debatable.

You kind of have to split it as an over 30 and under 30 thing cause the over 30 crowd is slowed by injuries, but when healthy they are the best in the game. The under 30, you don't expect injuries, but they happen.

Under 30:
Durant
Lebron
Howard
Paul
Wade
Amare
Rose
Westbrook
Parker
Melo

Over 30:
Kobe
Dirk
Nash
Gasol
Manu
Garnett
Pierce
Duncan
Allen
Odom

You know I gonna spin wit it

I don't see Marbury on your list. He's the best PG in the NBA world.

I think Supreme Commander has a point, its hard to be objective about these things and bunch of players get in on reputation alone for what they did in the past. But its also true people like Kobe can play through injuries and still be more effective than most people out there. But Russel Westbrook is too much of a reach.
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

1. Lebron
2. Kobe
3. Wade
4. Dwight
5. Durant
6. Paul
7. Dirk
8. Amare
9. D Williams
10. D Rose
Melo, Gasol, and Nash are just outside the top 10.

I don't understand the Dwight Howard love - fest... dude has no offensive game and always chokes in the playoffs.. He is def top 10 but no WAY in hell is he top 3

how can you say Blake Griffin is NOT in the top ten? He's skilled like Duncan and as physical on offense as Amare while being as strong as Karl Malone. If he stays healthy he will be one of the best front court players... ever.

Also... what about the old guys? Are we talking current skill level or guys you would start a team with? Because KG and Duncan are both superstars and better than guys like Melo and Durant. They arent as productive because their minutes are limited, but I would take a healthy KG in the playoffs over half the guys in your top 10 list. Same w/ Pierce

And where is Gasol? I would put him over Melo.

Ewingsglass.... good job w/ the o/u 30 list. Nash is still the best PG in the NBA, but his team is terrible.

Only bc of Kobes knee surgery do I put LeBron ahead of Kobe now, but that's it. A healthy Kobe is >>>>> than LeBron.

1) LeBron
2) Howard
3) Kobe
4) Wade
5) Stoudemire
6) Deron Williams
7) Durant
8) Melo
9) Paul
10) Nash

TMS is 100% correct about one thing (Although he didn't say it in this thread, or at least I don't think.) Durant and Melo should be considered in the same ranking purely b/c both are pure scorers and don't play much defense. However, I would still give the nod to Durant b/c of his length (Better defensive potential) and he simply has a heck of an attitude. If both of those guys had a better sense of urgency (Like Amar'e) then they'd be with LeBron, Wade, Kobe and Superman easily. However, all 3 of those guys aren't consistent enough on D', so they aren't there. Sometimes, their defense is non existant.
