PORTLAND, Ore. -- Knicks center Eddy Curry told The Post last night he plans to speak with his agent Leon Rose after the West Coast trip to see if there is any way he can get out of this mess.
Rose is also the agent for Carmelo Anthony.
"I'm definitely going to talk to Leon when I get back from this trip," Curry said. "Maybe he has a better idea on what's going on, but I don't."
Despite the Knicks' dire need for a center -- exposed Sunday in L.A. -- Curry has not even dressed this season, let alone played.
"I try to support the team and push them," Curry said. "It's ultimately [Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni's] decision. I try not to think about it too much or I'll drive myself crazy. When I get back, I'll talk to my agent and go from there."
As rookie Timofey Mozgov kept working on post moves at yesterday's morning shootaround at the Rose Garden, Curry was safely on the team bus. In fact, Curry was on the bus a good 25 minutes before the rest of his teammates joined him.
Perhaps the final straw for Curry came Monday when D'Antoni, in assessing the Knicks' problems at center following the Lakers' debacle, said there is time to develop Mozgov for later this season.
D'Antoni made no mention of Curry. In fact, D'Antoni shoots strange looks at reporters who ask about Curry.
Curry said he might try to speak to D'Antoni as well. They have not spoken in a long time.
"Maybe to see if there's something I can do," Curry said. "See what's up."
The Post has reported Curry will be bought out after February's trade deadline if the Knicks can't get back a solid asset for his expiring contract. The Knicks would want to open a roster spot to sign either a D-League center or backup point guard as insurance because of Toney Douglas' variety of injuries.
For now, Curry appears to have given up on playing. His departure for the bus well before any of his mates was the truest indicator.
As for the 7-foot-1 Mozgov, D'Antoni said his "attitude" has been "terrific."
"We'll keep trying to develop him," D'Antoni said. "It could work out like last year like Toney [Douglas] where there's a point in the season. I just know we need that big body and he's very athletic."
The Blazers have a backup center who is said to be available -- Joel Przybilla.

Knicks owner James Dolan has been on the Los Angeles/Portland segment of the trip but has kept mostly out of sight. D'Antoni said Dolan has not addressed the club.
Knicks team president Donnie Walsh still is not ready to travel.

Amar'e Stoudemire talked about the on-court toughness he has brought to the Knicks.
"It's where I come from," Stoudemire said. "Everyone's emotions come out in different forms. That's one of the ways it comes out for me."
Shawne Williams also brought some grit to the team.
"We need that toughness, especially if we're going to play small," D'Antoni said.
