Very interesting remaining schedule in January. There are a lot of tough road games as well as well as just some tough matchups. If we can navigate our way through and end up 27-20 or better and healthy... the remaining schedule sets up really nice for a team with momentum. I think we have to be 7 games over on February 1st in order to have any hope of sprinting past the Hawks or Orlando in the remaining schedule. Its going to be too much of a gap by then if we don't win 7 out of these 13. We're already 4 wins behind the Hawks. If you can't catch the Hawks we can just assume the 6 seed and maybe MikeD uses the rest of the season to tweak and experiment with other lineups to get ready for the Bulls.

Friday January, 7 10:30 PM EST at Suns

Tues January, 11 10:00 PM EST at Trailblazers
Wed January, 12 9:00 PM EST at Jazz
Friday January, 14 7:30 PM EST vs Kings
Monday January, 17 1:00 PM EST vs Suns
Wed January, 19 8:30 PM EST at Rockets
Friday January, 21 8:30 PM EST at Spurs
Sat January, 22 8:00 PM EST at Oklahoma
Monday January, 24 7:30 PM EST vs Wizards
Thurs January, 27 8:00 PM EST vs Heat
Friday January, 28 7:30 PM EST at Hawks
Sunday January, 30 7:30 PM EST vs Pistons
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Win the games you're supposed to: Suns (x2), Kings, Rockets, Wizards, Pistons.
There's 6 W's right there.

When it comes to the others, we just have to hope for hard fought games. We've already beaten Spurs and OKC in round 1, and come close against Miami and Portland.

I think we take Trailblazers, Thunder, and Hawks, lose to Lakers, Jazz, Spurs, and Heat.

9-4

Problem is that Atlanta is in a soft part of their schedule. We basically need to go 8-5 in order to keep pace and put ourselves in position for the stretch run.

Sat 08 vs Indiana 7:00pm SPSO
Tue 11 vs Milwaukee 7:00pm SPSO
Wed 12 @ Toronto 7:00pm SPSO
Sat 15 vs Houston 7:00pm SPSO
Mon 17 vs Sacramento 4:00pm SPSO
Tue 18 @ Miami 7:30pm SPSO
Fri 21 vs New Orl 7:30pm SPSO
Sat 22 @ Charlotte 7:00pm
Wed 26 @ Milwaukee 8:00pm SPSO
Fri 28 vs New York 7:30pm SPSO
Sat 29 @ Dallas 8:30pm SPSO

Absolutely we can win more than half, we can win 75%. Already took down the Pacers, Spurs, and tonight the Suns. Where's the self-doubt coming from?

moving past the magic and hawks in the standings is a tall order... we've been playing well but i see no difference in playoff positioning as long as we do not finish lower than 6th with a possible boston/miami 1st round matchup...

5 or 6 means a matchup with either the bulls or magic and they're roughly the same.

The question is will we reach our 2010 win total by the all star break, that would be impressive

Facing Chicago in the first round would be ideal.

Where's the self doubt coming from? Oh the last decade or so...

I think we can win 7 at least. I guess my concern going forward is playoff positioning. We're almost locked into the first round matchup with the Bulls. We would have to jump two teams to play the Hawks and Orlando is probably not the best matchup if we jump the Hawks.

I'll be very interested to see where we are by the trade deadline and what that pushes Donnie to do.

Last decade has nothing to do with the Now, the Moment. Krishnamurti told me so, I read him in jail.

I'm not worried about match-ups, you can't pick and choose match-ups; you go hard and wherever that lands you is where you go from. If I'm trying to manipulate seeding I'm not focused on going hard, I'm focused on seed-engineering, and that's bogus, man. That takes away from the hoops, kid. Word.

Interesting that you say that. I don't really disagree with you. What makes you like the Bulls matchup better than the Hawks/Orlando?

I counted 6. I'd be OK with that, given that 8 of 13 are on the road and this is a very tough part of the schedule. I'd be happier w/ 7 or 8 though .

Orlando has Dallas tonight. Too bad Dirk is out. Looks like it will be 9 in a row for Orlando.

Chicago has Boston tonight which could put them within a game in the loss column.

Hawks have the Pacers at home.

This West Coast swing is looking more and more critical. Just have to keep these three teams within a couple of games when we get through January's meat grinder schedule.

Thurs January, 27 8:00 PM EST vs Heat
Friday January, 28 7:30 PM EST at Hawks
Sunday January, 30 7:30 PM EST vs Pistons

After last night I'd say 7-6 is a conservative estimate.

That would look something like WINS vs @ Suns, @ Blazers, Kings, Suns, @ Rockets, Wizards & Pistons

To get to 8-5 you need to steal a game @ Jazz or @ Atlanta or Vs Heat

7 - 6 gets us to 27-20 +7
8 - 5 gets us to 28-19 +9

And god forbid if we go 10-4 -- we'd be sitting at 29-18 and +11 games over .500.

2-1 through the first three of these games.

FYI - We're on pace for 49 wins, which is ahead of Miami's pace from last year. They ended up being the 5 seed in the East. Boston was the 4 seed with 50 wins.
