I just follow his stats but he is blowing up especially in the shot blocking dept. Does anyone know his contract status after this season? I know he was in the Gallo draft but he was a second round pick. Also, would the Clips move Kaman?

he is another guy that I am sure Donnie Walnuts is following very closely, or at least I hope so - you know, when he wakes up from his nap.

Not only is he dominating Nene he dominated Carmelo and the entire Denver team in the paint--he is just a much better two way prospect and 6 years younger than Nene--its not even close. Physically he is on a different level and coming into his own. Go look on another thread--I said Deandre had the chance to become a top 2 elite free agent and that we needed to monitor him because of his position. I mean this guy put nene into the ground---complete physical domination by a different level athlete.

WOW, wish I could have seen that game. 20 rebounds and 6 blocked shots.

Go get him Donnie!

This guy plays at the top of the box--this is a rare athlete who will continue to get better. he doesnt need shots run for him and I see him being a 13-15 pt scorer in the 65% range but also having the ability to lead the league in blocks and rebounding. This is one heckuva prospect for us to look at for what we need. If he plays anywhere near this level--his FA stature will be well above Anthony by end of year. It is hard to find athletes who can produce games of 14 points 20 rebounds 6 blocks and 4 assists---at 22 years old. Im not basing this off one game either although this was impressive--this guy has been coming on for awhile now and with increased PT is taking it to the next level.

Would D'Antoni be able to play him? MDA doesn't get along with everyone- and he sounds like an athlete first, and D'Antoni doesn't always mix well with guys that aren't able to understand his system.

I mean, we already have AR who theoretically could be putting up similar numbers, but isn't playing.

Check out this quote from Jordan:

http://articles.latimes.com/2011/jan/03/sports/la-sp-clippers-fyi-20110104

"I see a guy driving and, as soon as he lets the ball go, I come over late," Jordan said. "All I have to do is take one step and I can be across the paint."

I'd love to get him- but a better bet for us might be to swap Curry for Kaman and hope he can stay healthy for the rest of this year and next.

in his last 3 games he has 19 blocks - incredible. i was high on deandre coming out of A&M but i didn't think he'd adjust to the nba game this quickly, briggs is right, this is going to be an elite-level free-agent.

I'm down with this kid -- how much do we offer him to scare off the Clippers (they have the right to match an offer sheet, right?). Wes Matthews-type money? What gets it done??

Sadly I don't think the Knicks or any other team have a shot at Jordan, especially if he keeps up this level of play. Under the current CBA the most another team could offer would be amount of the full MLE even if the team had cap space to spare thanks to the "Gilbert Arenas" provision.

How did it work with Matthews? Was his deal just the max midlevel?
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Basically for 2nd round picks that are 1st or 2nd year players the most a team could offer is the amount of the MLE.

The nice thing about FA is we can monitor the entire field for another 1/2 +. The one thing I have walked away with over the last couple of weeks is that Deandre Jordan is in the mix and last night was very impressive . If everyone was saying that Carmelo was a superstar--that nene would be a perfect fit here--well a kid who is years YOUNGER than both of them--dominated them physically. He made Nene look old and slow and Denver consistently had trouble in the painted area--either with a shot block or an alter(and then then the rebound). We dont need a player who needs shots---aka Carmelo needs 25 shots a game and doesn't bring anything to the D side. Hes a very good player but we need someone who can give us interior presence like Turriaf but actually be able to play at an advanced level.

If you didnt watch the game--here is a pretty good clip showing how Jordan physically played above over Nene. You needed to watch the whole thing to get a true measure--this shows physically that hes on another level.

Oops. I thought he was a 2nd year guy. This does not apply to him. Forget what I said.

i was just about to post a thread on this guy. he is a physical freak. he still is fairly inconsistent and there is always the worry of the contract year thing (him trying harder in b/c its a contract year).

this is why you've gotta love our own jordan (jerome) playing out in europe right now getting time. these guys can develop!

memo to the knicks: send AR to the D league!!!!!!!

if jordan keeps up this play i'd prefer him to melo. just keep gallo and chandler and give me a C to play next to amare, we're further along than adding melo.
