head coach jim boeheim "there is not doubt in my mind how important andy is to our basketball team"

AR gone but not forgotton. PLAY AR. before ny covets the work that other team's coaches have done to develop players, and we propose trades to get those players. how about having our coach put in work to develop the players we have? instill confidence in them. give them the chance to fail on court so they will give new york a chance to win on court.

i don't equate on court errors from players like AR4 and AR11 with loss, i equate it with growing that will bring wins, without sacrificing the chance at winning a single game. we can afford to grow players in new york, we can not afford, not to. we have a franchise player as the best on court role model in the league for our front court players. and we have an all star pg in the making as the best on court role model for our back court players.

we need to get back to the process of developing players who may not be as polished as chandler and fields are with temperament.. but have just as much budding talent. lets get back to being able to develop the nate robinsons and john starks of the nba.

[ps] hire jim boeheim as new head coach of new york knicks.

So we should play both our "AR"s, lose games, then say we are wasting Amare, then get a new coach, then have to change the players to suit the coach.

After 35 games, easy on track to make playoffs you not happy cuz Andy Rautins is not playing? Or Anthony Randolph who is not playing up to his youtube potential?

The Pringle man is paid to win. If you can't then you develop.

The cure to panic "OMG WIN NOW AND OMG PLAY EVERYONE" does not equate.

Jerome Jordan is playing well in Europe. The MoZ should get better.

Realistic goal: be 500. or better and make playoffs this year. Huge improvement.

Not enough? Not good? Think firing coach after 35 games cuz Anthony Randolph not an effective 5? Or Lamar Odom? Ok.

Fire MDA cuz he is not able to youtube highlight a rookie into the NBA? Thats logical?

does this andy kid look like a loser to you? he doesnt to me. but his name is one of the first mentioned to waive any time fans are looking to make room for say a big. why? fans have no vested interest, they havent seen him play much at all.

and blob if you think you gonna see andy next year if he doesnt get any playing time this season. i dunno. at best mda has this kid on track for the dleague at worst out of the nba completely. and for what? it just seems like a waste not to play both ARs this season, now.

smart - check
good character - check
shooting skills - check
maturity - check
work ethic - check

seems like he's got all the pre-requisites in a player this coach is looking for... i'm actually surprised he hasn't seen much action this season.

Yup.

Even more surprising since, IMO, he was MDA's draft choice.

Add passing and moving the ball/facilitating to the list. He showed me he could do that during preseason..Not to mention some proven ability in the clutch while at Syracuse..I like this kid - he can play on this team and contribute something eventually..I think with both Ray and TD banged up a little bit, Mike should reconsider having this kid in uniform and available every game from now on.

I'm the biggest of 'cuse fans and I actually pointed out Rautins as a potential pick for us last February, but I'll say that he could turn into a Ridnour type or he could never make it onto an NBA floor.

With Rautins, the whole question is; can he develop point guard skills at least to the level where he could be paired with a Douglas in the backcourt? He played point-forward as a senior at Syracuse and never crossed anyone over or anything, but he made great decisions with the ball and had some Curry-esque court vision. I'm not sure if its possible for someone to develop a handle after four years in college, but that's what he has to do to be an NBA player.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

NBA Ready -?

The kid played less then 30 minutes the entire preseason, and thats enough for you to make a clear cut evaluation. What I saw from him was lost abilty..cause aside from a 3 in transition, I saw nothing.

His defense is Putrid, and is court awareness is very low. Those Attributes TMS checked off are good reasons to hold on to the kid, but not enough to earned minutes ahead of any guard on the roster

i'm not trying to say he should be in the rotation, just that i'm surprised he hasn't been given minutes... MDA usually likes to get guys like that out on the floor... definitely surprised to be seeing Bill Walker in the rotation right now, he's been giving us literally nothing the past 3 games out.

man I said it a couple of times. Some players are not 'practice' players. They need to pressure to shine. I've seen Andy play and I believe if he got pt he'd likely be playing over douglas.
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

his shot wasn't falling but he was good on defense, hustled and didn't actually play bad. You have to realize that there is a speed and temp adjustment that often shows up in summer league

Over the years plenty of guys have assed in summer league only to look good on day 1. You can't judge too much based on that. The real improvement comes from practicing with your teams and during practices.

Also, coach has been known to have his favorites. There is more going on here than meets the eye. I say this because of the game his father was there for.....there was garbage time and just about everyone but Andygot to play. Whats up with that

Did you see him play in college???

Rautins may have been the guy the Knicks were targeting in the draft but he was taken very high for a guy that was considered a late second round pick or training camp invite by most scouts leading up to the draft. In regards to Rautins' dad, I wonder if there is a connection between he and D'Antoni from their Italian league days. I think nepotism was involved in the Gallo pick even though I like him.
