why cavs do it fresh start. cavs team as presently made up is a goner, after they made love with lebron when he showed up to play em as a heat traitor. cavs team lost the fans that game, even the owner went public to appeal to fans to love the team again. negative.

why knicks do it ok we are taking on salary so the fug what, jamison is expensive but will help the knicks. varejao (key to the trade) would make for a most excellent playmate for amar'e.

no need for Jamison w/Amare on this team... plus he's still got another $15M guaranteed owed to him for next season, effectively taking us out of any running for FA's this summer... not worth it for a guy putting up 14 & 6 off the bench on a crappy team.

Varejao would be a great addition after u make a move for a Melo or Iguodala in a trade, but not before... actually if we miss out on Melo & Iggy & decide to fill our holes at C & backup PG, a Curry for Varejao & Sessions trade wouldn't be too bad... but IMO it would be a plan C option at best.

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

wow arent we a bunch of varejao hataz i joke.

but we can swing such a trade plus wheel and deal for mayo. we have options as a team lets not feel glum about latest news on melo. a chandler/turiaf trade for mayo, and a td trade for telflair. forget about starting five, that is a misnomer that to me has no bearing in today's nba. think rotation.

a rotation of amar'e varejao mayo fields gallo felton telfair jamison thats a good look.

ny has to take jamison to get varejao, or else it rly doesnt make it interesting for the cavs.

cheers - The Answer Man likes the international spice Anderson Varejao brings to the Knicks rotation.

He upgrades the size of the frontcourt, hustles after loose balls, rebounds in traffic and has the ability to finish around the rack. The absolute BEST part is thathe will feed off the energy of the Madison Square Garden crowd. Varejao will embrace the city and the city will embrace him. As a tasty bonus, he compliments the marketing mix in a cosmopolitan ciy, which is always a good thing when you need the support of the crowd.

Yes.

Good call.

I would do that trade... I think Varejao would be a huge piece, and Jamison could push our youngs in the rotation. I like it. Varejao is the kind of FA I would target in the offseason anyway. Maybe you can flip Jamison and change for Iggy or something like that

I was quickly scorned and told he wasn't jack for suggesting the same guy last summer. Go figure

cheers - you rock.

Varejao would be overjoyed to be in a city that celebrates different cultures as a matter of routine. How many groupies of Knicks fans would start wearing oversized floppy wigs to games? The dude would be a bigger cult hero than Chris Dudley, Chris Childs and Doug Christie combined.

Varejao is animated and demonstrative. He plays with the reckless energy that New Yorkers love and embrace.

Make it so.

Antwan is a poor mans Vince Carter (which is truly saying something. He thinks he's a power forward but doesn't rebound particularly well, can't defend a stop sign and is injury prone. Leave bushy brow right where he is.
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Why not just trade Anthony Randolph and Timmy M for Varejo. That trade should work under the cap and it keeps our cap flexibility. I think the Cavs would consider it. They get two young players (on cheaper individual contracts) at positions of need, and we get a solid rebounder and defensive PF/C to team with Amare. Walsh, get er done.

I would do this also, as long as we know that Carmelo is traded and signed elsewhere. Iggy doesn't factor in at all, for me. As for this trade, we don't really need Jamison, but without taking Jamison's lofty contract, I don't see how we get Varejao otherwise. On the plus side, we would still be in the hunt during the Paul/Howard offseason with this trade.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I LOVE Anderson Verajao! He's the best post and help defender in the entire league. He shutdown Amar'e Stoudemire by himself the other night.

Why in the hell do we keep mentioning Chandler in a trade when he is our best defender and is getting better every year. That sucks. We build up these trades like we did with AR and before the season is half way over we want to run them out of town. After Varejao gets here we will be wanting to trade him. Keep Chandler he is one of the bright spots on this team and is better than Gallo.Gallo is a partier he is always seen in the clubs. His head is not geared for a New York player. Gallo gets caught up in the night life. Remember Dohun was his party buddy.

It didn't work for lebron (bring a championship playoff birth) so why do we think that it will work for Amear and the Knicks? Just stop and just see what Carmelo does. I would like to see what a good coach who knows how to communicate will do with AR.

Papabear - why do you insist on spelling Stoudemire's name so blatantly incorrect?

"Just stop and see what Carmelo does?" Huh? Can you please explain what that means?

Your comparison of the 2009 Cavaliers roster to the Knicks 2010 roster is not only devoid of any substantive comparison, it is an empty claim, left naked without one article of basketball clothing.

Help me out here...

The rumor also has Daniel "Booby" Gibson - who would be a very good backup PG. I'd take Gibson and Anderson Verajao over Andre Iguodala.
