Only Fields has a better +/- than Gallo. Knicks are better with him and it goes beyond the #s "winning is more fun... then fun is fun" -Thibs

![]() My big issue with Gallo remains shot selection. That 3 he took last night when we were up 3 w/ something like 1 min. left was just stupid and almost cost us the game. We obviously didn't need a 3. Amare was going absolutely nuts. We had to work the ball through him. Gallo wanted to be a hero, but a 3 was no better than a 2 in that situation.
It's true he sometimes is out of control going to the hole, but he draws lots of fouls, makes some tough shots and gets some lay-ups. Still much better for him to drive or pass most of the time and take 3's only when he's open and not rushed. He hits some of those quick release 3's when he's not really open and some of the step-back 3's too, but not at a high enough %. |

He was more assertive going to the basket during the first half, I think...more passive the second half, when I seem to recall he took most of his 3s. No man is happy without a delusion of some kind. ![]() cheers wrote:speaking about wild gallo, the way he moves chasing after players on defense and attacking the paint on offense, has often reminded me of drunkenstyle-kungfu. funny but effective. If you watch our games when he is on D, look at how many times he gets his hands on the ball when he is in a 1/1 situation. He actually has pretty quick hands for a 6'10"+ player- more like those of a guard-and he gets his on the ball with some frequency. No man is happy without a delusion of some kind. ![]() Last nite the Raptors broadcasters (actually pretty good) said he does not drive to the basket then reeled off a bunch in the first half. In the second they gave him more room and he shot from out side.
He took 9 foul shots last nite. I assume a passive player does not shoot that much! Knicks are winning more, he collects a high rate of fouls. He just needs to hit a few more jumpers per game. He hit a big shot last nite. Dude is clutch. We expect the world from him but he is more advanced than last year and doing it on a better team. Last nite Gallo was far more agressive than Wilson. |
