Right now, Mason is taking up a roster spot. He might still be suffering from his wrist injury or some other malody. We are in need of a 2nd point guard, and his skillset does not help us.

How is he taking up a roster spot when there is an 8 man rotation?

If someone God forbid gets hurt then you can let him go. Right now we need a PG in the worst way. Release Curry and sign one.

Mason seems to be a good veteran presence in the locker room that we desperately need on a young team. He's not complaining about his role like Larry Hughes would. He's being a good pro.

I think we have to release a guy with a non-guaranteed salary in order to stay under the cap
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

the only thing i worry about is whether or not mason is actually important for the locker room or not. i know amar'e and felton have stepped up their leadership efforts, but its very possible that mason is a very important part of that locker-room chemistry since he's a winning vet.

I think Mason will be a tremendous locker room presence for Maccabi Tel Aviv

be it as it may - i agree with gkf.. if we're going with an 8man rotation right now theres really no need to rush and cut mason IF he is indeed a big part of the locker-room which may be the reason he's still with the team. he's certainly not doing anything else to garner a spot on the roster so MAYBE it is the reason he's still on the team. who knows.

I was actually the one that said no need to rush. But locker room presence for a guy not contributing can easily be replaced.

so in fact, you copied GKF's viewpoint. martin/andrew can we reset bips postcount again as a form of punishment?

Mason Jr's stats:

0.4pts 1.7rebs 0.4 Assists, shooting 7.7% FG, 0% 3-Pt, 33.3% FT

An absolute waste of a roster spot- if we didn't have him taking up a place we could have signed Earl Baron. We're still in need of a PF/C backup and PG, so why not trade him for nothing/ cut him and try out some players who could actually contribute. I wasn't a fan of his signing, but I'm still bewildered as to why he's stinking it up so much.

i agree, i think him & Rautins are redundant... i don't see the sense in having both those guys on this roster when they both pretty much fill the same role if either of them could find some minutes to play... we could probably shore up our frontcourt depth in place of 1 of those guys
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Im sure they would package him with BW in a heart beat, but when you look around the league, there aren't to many lagit back ups, just take a look at N O..they trade for jack and he's been a let down.

bring back marbury, he was pretty successful with amare
