I cant think of one player that's better both ways. The guy can do 30-10-3-2 with good D and 55% every night--no one is better than that.

top 5 for sure....

Durant, Kobe you gotta put ahead right now.... Wade and Lebron always lurk...

I do think he is better than Dwight Howard though

Durant is shooting 41% from the field, 27% from 3 pt range... this year Amare has been outplaying him by a wide margin.

Amar'e is doing more for his team than Durant, Wade, Lebron or Kobe. Just cuz the Lakers have a great record doesn't mean that Kobe is doing more for his team or any of those other players in the top 10. Amar'e has been ridiculous this year. Especially since the calling out of his teammates. I think he's gonna get Player of the Month.

STAT has totally revived this franchise. Biggest signing in NY since Ewing.

We will get another FA to play here now, I can definitely see people wanting to play here now. I have tried to tune in to every game I can, even my gf who doesn't like basketball has been watching. The Knicks are definitely up and coming, but the schedule is going to get tough and we will be tested.

I believe this team can handle it though.

Definitely a MVP cnadidate. If the Knicks finish in the to 5 in the east, Amare should definitely win the coveted award, especially when you consider that he dragged this franchise from 7-8 years of obscurity.

OasisBU.... I agree, I think players dont remember what the garden is like when a good knick team is on the floor...they will want to play at the most electric arena with STAT... I really feel melo is a shoe in for the off season... i dont know if i really want him but by all means he'd make us a championship contender...

A 6th or 7th seed team cannot have a Most Valuable Player. STAT is my boy, but its the truth.

Dwight Howard is probably the top candidate for the award as of now.

I love the guy. His D is improving but great D? No.

He comes up with some great defensive plays, but great D is consistent.

How about this - Amare for MVP!

Is he the best all-around player in the league? No.
Is he the most dominant player on a team that will improve 27 games in the win column (don't you see the final 56-26 record?!)? No doubt.

Hasn't he stepped up from a leadership perspective? No doubt.

When we look back in the final month of the season, he'll have been just about as valuable as any single player in the league.

I disagree - the Knicks will be the most improved team in the league so I could see STAT getting the MVP treatment. I definitely see your point though but I think in this case we are seeing how 1 player can single handedly change the face of a franchise. Granted he has some help on the floor, but his own play, his leadership, etc have all led to why the Knicks are performing like this.
