In 3 pointers made shooting 40%............

Having off shooting start yet still in top 12 in 3's made! What happens when he gets hot?

Also 3rd in FT % and 11th in the league in FT made!! (One spot ahead of Melo!)

All while being 4th option on our team.. That's solid production

KNICKS on the way UP!!!

that is indeed. would like to see him be more aggressive though, but it is nice that he can mature at his own rate, but I liked it last year when he was trying to make this his team.

He's 16th in made threes in the league, and he's shooting an abysmal 36.6. But otherwise your post was spot-on.

Gallo is our KVH and we will never be happy with him. Even when he is good we think not.

Tied for 10th in 3’s made according to this:

http://www.cbssports.com/nba/stats/leaders/regularseason/yearly/NBA/TPM

way way way down the list in 3-pt % at 36.6

it's not abysmal but it's not great. watching the games has let me know that he's not the great 3-point shooter that he appeared to be his rookie year, and his recent successes just scream for him to keep switching up his game, getting to the line and getting off that 3-point line.

I have insulted Kyle Korver by comparing him to Gallo, my deepest and sincerest apologies.

This is a very strange post bro. Gallo personally lost us a handful of games during that losing streak with a bunch of 3-13 type nights.

Among the top 50 trey chuckers in the league, Gallo is 26th in percentage at 36%

Now, in the last 10 games, he's shooting 39% from downtown, which sounds great, except that he's back down to 34% in the last 5...

As usual, you just never know what you're going to get from this guy. He might steal you a win or shoot you out of one.

Hollinger has him at 86th in the league in player efficiency, sandwiched between JR Smith and Nick Young.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

gallo is a 22 year old (same age as our loved fields)6'11 sharp shooter that is learning to get to the line at will give him time.... he should never ever be compared to korver, who is one of the worst defenders in the league and is a one trick pony when open. gallo can shoot over people with his size, above average defender, still has a positive effect on the game when having a off night(new this year), top ten free throw shooter, likes the big shot and makes the big shot. he needs to work on rebounding at his size but at 22 years old sky is the limit for gallo. how many people here threw the mayor under the bus at age 21 and 22, and now he is 23 and beasting it. two more things about gallo great court vision and passing ability.

Well... if he becomes a rich man's Rashard Lewis (120 mil contract and all, 2-time all-star), is that so terrible for a #6 overall pick? If we're expecting him to become more than that (while playing 3rd fiddle to Amare and Felton)... that that's just unreasonable. Paired with Amare, I'd expect Carmelo's production to drop significantly too.

In his 2008 draft class, there are only 3 plays I like better - #1 Rose, #4 Westbrook, and #10 Brook Lopez. Based on this year's production, maybe there's an argument for #17, Roy Hibbert.

This is crazy talk here, all the hate towards Gallinari, why? Because that's how some people do. That's how they does. Gallinari is a great baller, he can do it all on the court and his mind is so strong and healthy, he's a winner, he's a gentleman; a professional. The kid is young still with an unlimited ceiling. This is the first real team he's been on in the NBA. The positive energy will make him so good this season.

Technomaster, Lopez is wack, man. Fields is a better at rebounding than him. Lopez is wack.

WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.

How does he have an unlimited ceiling? The guy is statistically a streaky, average shooter.

In our losses this year, Gallo is shooting a frigid 8-36 (22%).

How's that for a "great baller"?

He's been inconsistent from the 3, and in our last game many of the shots he did not make were of the uncontested nature.

His shot seems flat to me, and there are times when he is not squared up properly, and you can see that the shot is off line as it leaves his hand.

He needs to get his legs more involved in his shot- that is what usually helps the arc.

I've said this before- his foul shots have a nice arc to them this year- don't know why this does not translate to his longer shots.

I agree that his game has to be varied, but it is essential for this team that he becomes more consistent from deep. He shot 44% his rookie year when he had a serious back issue, and he's gone done precipitously percentage-wise since then, despite the fact that his back is no longer an issue.

As a taller player with longer arms he has to be more disciplined in his shooting motion- his shooting form consistency has to improve.

I would love to see how he goes about practicing, and whether he actually puts himself through the motions he would go through in a game, or just puts up long jumpers in a leisurely manner.

No man is happy without a delusion of some kind. Delusions are as necessary to our happiness as realities- C.N. Bovee

johnwallace44 are you seriously going to base a players ability over the 9 games we lost....thats like saying starks was not a good baller becouse he was streaky and didnt perform well in losses... a loss is a loss no matter how you look at it and basketball is a team sport. the fact is we have a 22 year old kid that has potential all star written all over him will he become a all star we will find out.... look at the mayor, you should never throw a 22 year old under the bus... WC at 23 is proving alot of people here wrong that lost patience with him last year at 22.
