The guy is driving me NUTS. On one hand, his defense and scoring is GREAT, but on the other hand, he absolutely KILLS us with his bad decisions and they are bad enough that it seems to wipe everything out. We need a backup PG pretty bad, especially if they send Rautins to the d-league, as it seems they will.

I think they should waive Rautins but the organization seems pretty committed to him. I am not sure why. However, they have to create a roster spot to bring in another point. I don't know how Williams has been doing but he or Mason seem like the obvious guys if you don't waive Rautins.

Yeah, if Felton goes down we are definitely going to ahve to release someone in my view. From what I've seen of Rautins, a rotation of he and Douglas for an extended period is not going to work well. Who do you wave at that point? Curry?

Oh my god. TD is absolutely an offensive set killer. He does not know what play to make. His shooting and his defense is saving him from being a total disaster. D'Antoni needs to force TD to make sure the ball gets passed around at least 4 times before shooting.

Sergio Rodriguez might be a good option again in this team. I know he was a little exposed last year because of the players we had but he would really flourish now players like Fields, Gallo, Mayor and Amare to pass to.

haha.

fans: PLAY ROOKIES and young players!

coach gives some playing time to them

fans: THEY SUCK DON'T PLAY THEM.

Maybe coach should sit TD for 10-20 games until Walsh comes on a road trip. And there was some question as to why TD didn't play 30 minutes every game last year?

This team would actually run with him. His shooting may still be bad, but I think he'd be OK with the fast pace. I actually think Rautins would not be a bad idea on the court With TD. TD could be the scorer that his is and Rautins could setup the plays. I think he would be better than Mason.

What amazes me is that people don't think Mike has an idea of what a good player looks like when he coached Nash and Amar'e. So TD and Hill didn't play and some think that Mike didn't have his reasons based on what he saw. Just freakin amazing.

true. welcome to losing streak and frustration. I think you would see Gallo, Turiaf and Fields be conduits a LOT MORE.

Yup.

If he went down for say 20 games we'd be in serious trouble. I can't see TD and Mason being a legit option for that long a period of time. I'd be curious what do you do? Do you waive Rautins, Williams? Buy out Curry? Rodriguez knows the system so he might be an option. I'm not a fan of his, but for 20 games he wouldn't kill us. Although Gallo and Amare would seriously need to step up.

They must have had a meeting about that after last nights scare. I thought to myself what the heck are we gonna do if he has to miss time? They MUST address this issue.

I know my issues with those guys not playing were based on the fact that it was a 29 win team that started 1-9. The post season was never a realistic goal and the guys playing ahead of Hill and Douglas were not very good and had expiring contracts. Not giving Douglas and Hill some minutes just didn't make sense. Hill should have at least been given Timo minutes.

This may sound real silly, b/c he's about 35, but is there a bad reason to pick up Chucky Atkins? He was waived by Phoenix, but can't he at least be a sufficient backup just until we find a better option or perhaps until Rautins proves he can be better?

When the coaching staff stops trying to turn this kid into anything more then a steaky scorer, who plays good D, they"ll soon figure out that a back up pg is a must, regaurdless if felton goes down.

At this point, I already believe MDA has come close to relizing that and pretty much tweaked is playbook (and made everyone a playmakers) so they would not have to soley rely on TD running the show for more then a possesion or 2.

He's using TD in the same sense he was using nate and barbosa, a scoring guard off the bench. The ideal back up would be STEVE BLAKE, not sergio, who plays at a 100 mph for every play. This team is not a great fast break team, but they are playing a quicker half court game

I think he was not a fit last year with the players we had. I think in a running system like we have now he should excel. I mean last year he would run and push the ball and no one ran with him.

If TD can't do it when called upon, we operate with Fields at pg (if he has the quickness-(I haven't seen him trying to guard smaller quick guards)or let them operate with Fields at point forward. Rautins is as fit to play pg as TD-he was SG in college.
