I think they should and my bet is he is available and Im willing to pay a very fair price to get him.
Yes he would be a nice fit @ 6-11 250 to play as a third big
No Mosgov and or Randolph needs those minutes

Jason Thompson is a piece to go along with building a contender. Having him come off the bench would be great for us. The issue is what would we have to give up to get him.

he's just a big body. His skills are limited. He might be as good (not now) as Marc Jackson was like 10 years ago. That kind of player. Maybe a poor man's Haywood. If your giving up Bill Walker ok, but that drops Mosgov from the rotation and Mosgov has 10x the upside Thompson has

Knicks should go after CP3, Carmelo Anthony or Steve Nash.

This^^^

The guy has had some good moments, and I thought he was progressing until they decided to get Landry. I wonder how Walsh looked at Thompson prior to that draft. Less likely to make mistakes than Randolph, at this point.

I have not seen him enough to know his weaknesses, although based on the times I have seen him, I have a feeling that his game in the post is only so-so. Landry, on the other hand, has some nice post up skills, and seems to be a more consistent scorer, which is why the Kings must like him, but like the Mayo situation, I have not looked at any forums to see if Thompson is available, or why the Kings may be giving up on him.

Agreed.

I'd rather see if OJ Mayo is out there first if we're talking about acquiring a piece we need to give up AR to get.

I would do Thompson for Randolph is a heartbeat. Randolph's game is just too undisciplined, and I just don't see where he is going to turn into this great player. We already have plenty of SFs. We need some more true PFs and Cs. Thompson is a real PF. Randolph is a SG is a skinny PFs body.

I'd roll the dice as long as we didn't have to give up much for him. His per minute stats are OK and he'd be a solid bench guy. I wouldn't give up Randolph or Fields for him. I remember seeing him play at Rider and thinking he'd 17 and 8 guy. Maybe he can still develop into that.

you trade for him and give him minutes than Mosgov is out of the rotation. Jason Thompson has not done enough in the NBA to warrent that

Mozgov has done enough in the NBA to warrant it though.

that's fine... i just don't see someone like Jason Thompson making much of a difference here... we need a major piece to make an impact... i don't give up assets to bring in a 3rd big unless we're talking about someone major.

Seriously think about it. Where'd he play college ball? _____ Same school as? ____

Ditto, I would consider Marc Gasol and that's about it.

Jason Thompson is a good overall player. He can score, play d and board. He's not great at any one thing, but does most things well. As a backup at center and pf, he'd be a good fit.
