I feel like the Moz getting posterized is going to help his development as a defensive force later in the year. Even though his english is limited he's going to be embarrassed by the constant ESPN highlight attention & I think make a vow for this to never happen to him again (even if he has to hurt someone to ensure that it doesnt)

AJ - Mozgov has been convinced that committing a personal foul is a cardinal sin and leads to being benched. The press has labelled him a foul magnet although he only averages 2.5 personals a game. As a result he is simply pulling away from contact when he needs to drop the hammer and sickle.

It is time Mozgov watched some Maurice Lucas tapes and just played Charles Oakley basketball. No layups.

You come in the lane, you get hit hard. You wanna start something? Go right ahead. If it turns into a reputation defining scuffle, so be it. You set the tone in The Garden so the home crowd backs your efforts and the resulting technical foul is considered a rite of passage as a "made" enforcer. You start a scuffle on the road, the boos come raining down and it only gets worse. Commit a hard foul in New York and it is simply business. Don't worry, Amar'e, Gallo and Ronny will be close by for backup.

Mozgov simply needs to hit somebody to send a clear message that the road to he rack has a toll.

Everyone got flushed on by Griffin last night.....

But Amare Turiaf and Gallo all dunked on him too!

Guy on offense is unstoppable .... Moz at least is there trying to stop him!

the stench of whatever ended up in your shorts would have scared him away the next time he tried to cram on your head?

Very few people in the league could have stopped that play.

he only averages 2.5 fouls per game but he also only averages 13 minutes. that's an astronomical rate even for a big man. it usually means that he is overmatched.

i always pray that we don't get blown out while he's on the court..

Mozgov tries to protect the paint. It happens.

David Lee never got posterized because he got out of the way any time someones came across the lane.

Yeah man, if he kept his hands up he woulda been called for a foul but he wouldn't get posterized. David Lee would have been positioning himself for a rebound(can't help it) and not trying to stop Griffin even in this situation. . .

David Lee would have run out of bounds... At least Mosgov has the courage to get posterized.

Only way to stop that play is to stop the pass to Griffin in the first place, which means you need someone shadowing him at all times during the pick and roll. This isn't that easy.

Rose is not the answer.

Mozgov is playing is fear due to the following:

- D'Antoni does not believe in purpose fouls. For him Charles Oakley's "no layoups" edict is bad manners

- he wants to stay on the court and once he picks up two fouls he knows he is about to be yanked

- one hard foul and he is cast as a villian by writers who crave catchy headlines

- he just got here

I always admired how DLee managed to be in perfect, out of camera range position to get the rebound off a poster dunk.
[starts getting misty] David was always so smooth with the way he'd catch the ball after the dunk, and step out of bounds ever so daintilly, and make the inbounds pass. Great footwork.
You just can't teach skills like that.

Yo, not for nothing, but is it legal to cradle someone's head into your nuts as you jam over them?

Absolutely. Timo went after Griffen a couple of times. He even blocked a dunk attempt. I also would put Gallo in the "has courage" department. Gallo was also posterized trying to block Griffen in a fastbreak. Shotblockers get posterized.
