You've been panicking from the second game of the season so it's familiar territory.

Just fire the coach and hire a defensive-minded coach.

I agree. I don't think things get fixed until the coach is replaced. I don't think there is anyway you can expect to compete with Amare as your lone big, a finesse three point shooting 6'10" small forward and a 6'8" power forward. Shooting tons of threes, not boxing out, being undersized, not adjusting, not preparing for your opponnent... This just isn't working. I don't want to see a trade for a super star that insures a 42 win team and the tenure of this coaching regime continuing. The D'Antoni system is fundamentally flawed and it is time to move on. It might be a bitter pill for Walsh to swallow and he might feel that he is compromising his loyalty but it is time to move on.

As humiliating as this loss was I'm not ready to see him fired but I wouldn't mind hearing suggestions for D'Antoni's replacement.

Guys. The coach sucks. The Gm-ing has been bad. The roster doesn't mesh well, is not as talented as many are trying to convince themselves of, and Gallinari has been overrated.

But "IT" is not the coach!

"IT" is not the GM!

"IT" is not the players!

"IT" is the owner. Every move the Knicks make, from trying to become a contender in one trade, to trying to become a contender in one free agency, is an order from the owner.

Don't kid yourself. It's the owner, It's the owner, It's the owner.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

I think all of us are in shock right now after this loss and these reactions show it. Clearly this is a low. Let's see what we do against the rockets but after this showing i don't hope for much.

I kind of expected something simular to this early on. Beating Bulls and blowing out the Wiz gave me a new perspective on the team. Thats why these last few losses have been extra painful. I still think we can be very good, as soon as our record becomes really crappy and we have nothing to lose we'll go on a winning streak against good teams. The Bulls/Wiz games were a glimpse of things to come. These last few games represent what we really are at the moment - a work in progress.

Mo Cheeks, Bill Lambeer, JVG (by hook or crook get him to coach the Knicks). But I think he is eying the Lakers job once Phil is history. Mark Jackson why not, Eric Spolstra once he gets canned from the Heat.

Forget about Mark Jackson. This guy has never coached in his life.

Just hire a touted assistant like Brian Shaw or something.

Some defensive coach. Anyone.

Hell, Mike Fratello.

The owner is a problem but he is willing to spend money. The coach doesn't prepare his team for individual opponents and his peers have called him out for this. The coach plays an undersized line up and the philosophy behind it is that teams will have to adjust to the mismatches he creates. When things go wrong, it appears that he focuses on perfecting his offense so that those things don't happen again. There is no way that the Knicks can win anything with Amare playing as their only big. There is no way they can win with this guy. I cringe anytime a game is close in the fourth quarter and he has to call a play to put his team in a position to win or force an overtime. Tonight it turned into a jump ball. He is a mess and his philosophy is wrong for the NBA. He had the perfect point guard in Phoenix and close to the perfect roster but his ego got in the way. It is time to move on.

I think Dolan takes a lot of blame here.

But, Walsh has done a really good job of fixing the damage. Its not fully repaired, but I think the roster and direction have both been realigned and pointed in the right direction.

However, while there is talent on the roster, we continue to see the same problems. Kevin Love grabbing 300+ boards in this game is less about him and more about the fact that D'Anshmoni has ALWAYS wanted to play small ball and ALWAYS gives the players the green light & encouragement to launch 3 pointers.

If it were over the season, then I would suggest Pat Ewing as a coach- worry about what his offensive philosophy would be, but you can bet he wouldn't accept this launch at every opportunity a three pointer.

On a positive note, game picker got easy!

I like Cheeks but I'm not sure he would be right for this team, I actually like the idea of Spoelstra, he got them to play well last season and he would have a chip on his shoulder if Riley booted him. Lambeer might help clear a path for Isiah's return so I obviously wouldn't want that. I would love to see JVG as an assistant to D'Antoni but not as a head coach, he wasn't so hot in Houston.

The buck stops with the owner after 10 years of losing. The only constant has been the owner. D'Antoni was a bad hire, but I guarantee you Dolan told Walsh to go get him.

Walsh got the Knicks under the cap. I don't see that the same as fixing damage. Better drafting would have been fixing damage in my eyes. The team just signed Stoudemire to franchise money and is likely headed for 30 wins. I can't see that as having fixed anything.
